In truth, Clint knew little of Agent Coulson. They were assigned missions together on several occasions. Clint admired the way Coulson always managed to be on top of things, but they weren't close. Most of their conversations consisted of mundane subjects: how are the cacti you received for Christmas, etc.
Standing at the grave-site the Avengers looked to Clint. Of all the misfits of their little group, Clint realized that he knew Coulson the best. Which was a shame, really.
Clint licked his parched lips, trying to recall the best tale.
