I blinked open my eyes and found myself staring at an unfamiliar room, 'What the…?' I thought, looking around in confusion, 'Where the hell am I?'
"Hey! Wake up already! You're going to be late to school!" An unrecognizable voice shouted from the hallway right before the door slammed shut. Shaking my head, I slowly sat up and glanced down at my body. It…seemed the same…Nothing was really different. Sighing, I stretched out, 'My mind must be playing tricks on me, that's all. It's just a dream.'
The door opened with a light creek, "Mama…" A little girl's voice sounded, making my eyes slowly open. "Mama..!"
Sitting up, I stared at the child. She was…the most beautiful creature I had ever seen! She was rubbing at her eyes sleepily, her brown hair was a mess and she was clutching at her nightie with her other hand.
"Oh, what's wrong?" I couldn't help going to her, and on my way, I noticed that I was in nothing but a plain red t-shirt.
"What's wrong, hmm?" I gently repeated myself as I lifted her into my arms and moved her hair from her face; it felt so natural to do that.
The child buried her face to my chest, mumbling, "I had a bad dream…"
Readjusting her, I looked up as a different door opened and someone else entered the room.
I stared at him with wide eyes.
His hair was dark brown and very disheveled looking, in a natural type of way, his gray-blue eyes traveled the room, he was halfway dressed with a pair of jeans on and a toothbrush in his mouth as his hands searched his pockets. "Hey, Hun, have you seen my keys?" He asked, looking at me, toothbrush sticking from the right side of his mouth.
Finally unhinging my jaw and mentally slapping myself, I managed, "I-is that them over there?"
I watched him turn to look at the dresser, then, mumbling to himself, he went back to the adjacent bathroom, moving the toothbrush around now.
A strange shiver ran down my spine.
He came back into the bedroom minus the toothbrush, with a plain black shirt on while pulling on his jacket, he grabbed his keys before he gave me a brief kiss on the lips, sighing, "I'll probably be late tonight."
"..Kay…" was all I could let out as I stared up at him.
With a small smile, he kissed the girl's head and left the room yelling and clapping his hands, "Come on, come on, we're going to be late."
"We're hurryin!" a young boy shouted, while waving at me as he passed, "Bye Mom!"
"See you later!" Another girl was behind the boy.
I held my hand up a bit late before returning my attention back to the child in my arms only to find she was asleep.
Smiling softly, I gently laid her down on the bed I had vacated moments before and nervously made my way to the bathroom.
I vaguely noticed the ring on my left hand.
Finally gaining the courage, I looked at the mirror and found myself staring at an older woman.
An older…me.
My body jolted upright when the bell rang. That…it had to be a dream!
Breathing deeply, I quickly turned to gather my things together and rushed out of the classroom.
Taking a calming deep breath, I slowed down when I saw a group of gathered people.
"That the new guy?" one asked.
"Yeah. Isn't he cute?" a girl giggled.
"No." another guy growled..
Rolling my eyes, I forced myself through the crowd just to stop and stare. Paralyzed seconds later with widened eyes and an unhinged jaw.
I was staring at up at his gray-blue eyes.
