"Ugh… I really need to get going..." I thought, getting dressed quickly.

Getting dressed and running down the stairs, nearly falling down them, I picked up my backpack and head to the front door.

"Mom! I'm heading now! Be back later!" I yelled behind me.

She replied to be back soon, and I ran outside.

Running down the street, I was soon standing in front of my friends door. Knocking quickly, it opened fairly fast.

"Oh, Lucas! Forgot you were coming over today." My friend Spark smiled at me.

"I… Kinda… Been working on it." He looked away slightly.

Shaking my head, I walked in. Spark lead me to his room and pulled out our project. For an hour, I helped Spark so we won't fail our school project. And after that hour, I walked out and told Spark to keep working on it. He groaned and reluctantly agreed. I confirmed he would do it, and walked home.

Getting home, I was greeted by my mother.

"Good I guess." I replied, walking upstairs.

Closing the door behind me, I jumped on my bed with a book.

"This is going to kill me… Spark really needs to take this stuff more serious..." I shook my head, beginning to read.

Hours passed of me just reading, until I heard a knock at my door. My mother walked in and said Spark was here. Looking at the time, it was five in the afternoon on a Saturday. Sighing, I placed my book on my dresser and got up. Walking downstairs, I opened the door and saw Spark with a smile.

"Hey, wanna go out for a bit?" He asked.

"Have you been working on our project?" I said.

"Yes..." He groaned.

"Then sure… Could use some air anyway." I replied, grabbing my bag.

We headed to our little hangout spot, which was named emerald park, a park within emerald city, which is also where we live. After arriving, we just sat and discussed our project, Spark avoiding most questions, not a big surprise. But after a half an hour or so, Spark completely stopped and looked behind me, eyes sparkling. Confused, I waved my paw in his face, but he didn't do anything other then look. Wondering what he was looking at, I turned back to look. Scanning, there was nothing out of the ordinary. Turning back, I asked.

"What are you looking at?"

He pointed and spoke.

"Look at those two." He whispered.

Looking to where he was pointing, I saw what looked like an Umbreon and Espeon. Something did look a bit off, the Espeon seemed depressed, as the Umbreon tried talking to her.

"What about them?" I asked, even though he probably noticed the Espeon's sad expression.

"That Espeon looks pretty sad. Wonder why..." He said, getting up.

"Whoa, you shouldn't bother them. It's their business." I said.

"Really? You know me." He said running to them.

"Spark, you idiot..." I mumbled, getting up to run after him.

I caught up to them, and Spark was already chatting with them. Running up to his side, I just stood there, trying to get Spark to move along. But he wouldn't budge.

"Oh, this is Lucas, my friend." He introduced ourselves.

The Umbreon looked at us.

"Sorry for Spark, he is known to do this..." I apologized.

"N- no, it's fine. It's nice meeting new Pokemon. I'm Eclipse." He reached his paw out.

I shook it, just to be nice.

"And this is Shine. She is going through a rough time right now, so please be mindful..." He said.

"If I could ask, why?" Spark asked.

"Spark…!" I growled.

"It's fine, since our city, blackbird knows what happened." He said.

He then went on about what happened to 'Shine' and honestly, it kinda shocked us. Spark fell silent, probably regretting asking, but he quickly jumped back to his normal self.

"Oh, sorry… Shouldn't had asked." Spark sounded sad.

"Well, we should get going. It was nice meeting you." Eclipse said.

Eclipse then nudged Shine.

"U- um… I- it was ni- nice meeting you..." Shine spoke in a whisper.

They began walking away, leaving us standing there. Looking at Spark, he kept his eyes on Shine.

"Well, that went smoothly… You got lucky… Now, wanna get ice cream or something?" I asked, as Spark loved ice cream.

He quickly agreed and we went on our way. The entire day was Spark talking about Shine, which was a bit annoying, but I kept in there. And once the sun went down enough to cause the sky to turn pinkish orange, we said our goodbyes and headed home. Getting home, and eating my dinner, I walked to my room and jumped in my bed. Turning the TV on, I watched random stuff before I fell asleep.

About a week or so passed after meeting those two, and it was a school day. Once school got out, I met with Spark, as we made plans to go to our nearest pool, just to cool off and relax a bit.

An hour or so just swimming and talking, I heard Spark.

"Looks like you have an admirer."

"Huh?" I asked confused, thinking I heard him wrong.

"You have an admirer, heh." He pointed.

Looking, I saw what looked like a Braixen. My eyes narrowed, and I saw her quickly look down and begin messing around with her stuff. Turning back, I gave him a stare.

"She was probably just thinking of something and didn't realized." I said.

"Uh-huh, whatever you say..." He smirked at me.

He kept messing around with the topic, and it went so far that I had enough.

"Fine, lets go up and confront her. I'll show you she wasn't staring." I said.

Getting out of the pool, I began walking towards the Braixen. Spark kept making comments, and I tried my hardest not to punch him. We walked right in front of the Braixen, who looked slowly at us. Not sure why, but it looked like she forced a smile. Anyway, I opened my mouth to speak, but Spark cut me off.

"Hey, I noticed you've been looking at my friend."

She looked at him, wide eyed.

"I had enough of you already…!" I growled, shoving him into the pool.

Looking at the Braixen, I sighed.

"Sorry about him. He thought you were looking at me, then dragged me here to see..." I said.

"That isn't true! You said to go up and confront her!" I heard Spark.

She looked at me, to Spark, then back at me.

"W- well… I wasn't looking at y- you. Was I staring? Sorry if I was..." She said.

Spark dragged himself out of the pool and nearly jumped on me.

"Well, I'm Spark, and this is Lucas!" He wrapped himself around me, which I hated deeply.

"Um… I- I'm Fang." She spoke.

After we introduced ourselves, we just talked a bit. But it was getting late, and we had school, so we said goodbye and headed out. Once I got home, I enjoyed the last hour I had before going to sleep since I was tired.

I woke up, and it was Friday. Happy that the weekends were here just about, I got dressed and went to school. School went fine, and I remembered sitting at the park once school ended.

Sitting on the bench, staring at the blue sky, I just daydreamed a bit. But that was broken when I heard Spark call my name. Groaning, wishing I could relax, I turned to face him. Trying not to show anger, I spoke.

"What do you need?"

He ran up to me and showed me a map.

"A… Map…?" I was a bit confused.

"This is a map of an abandon mine just outside of nano city!" He seemed overjoyed.

"Nano city? That's miles away… Why do you even want to go to a mine?" I asked.

"Because…! It haves shiny ores I bet, and I love gemstones and stuff!" He said.

"So you want me to travel with you to nano city… Because you want a stupid ore? There's probably nothing there anymore, I think that mine closed around 1932." I rolled my eyes.

"So…? I still wanna see! Lets go!" He grabbed my paw.

Knowing Spark, he wouldn't let up until I accepted, so I did, even though I really didn't. He seemed happy with my choice and rushed me to a bus stop. And after half an hour on a bus, we arrived at nano city. Spark was pushy and kept urging me to hurry, which just made me go slower, just to make him angry. And ten minutes passed when we finally arrived at the mine entrance. Looking at it, it was completely boarded up.

"Oh, look… We wasted our time..." I said, annoyed.

"No, wait, look!" He said, walking to the boards.

He then pulled a loose board to the side, perfect size for us.

"Someone else had our idea. Lets get going!" He cheered, crawling in.

"Spark, you don't know if there's a murderer in there… Just be careful." I followed.

Once in, I couldn't see anything, but Spark was already ahead of it. He pulled his phone out and turned the flashlight on.

"Okay, pitch black… Don't get hurt, I can't drag you out of here." I said.

"Just follow me." He replied, diving deeper into the cave.

We walked for five minutes, finding random useless things, broken tools, old supplies, all that stuff in abandon mines. We soon reached a pretty open area, Spark looked around and it looked like a camp area, like a supply room. We walked around it, until I heard something. Rapid footsteps rushing in our direction. Before I was able to react, I saw Spark get tackled to the ground with a painful thud.

"Thought you could catch me cops?! No way!" I heard someone growl.

"Get off him!" I shouted, rushing him.

Surprisingly, I wasn't expecting this, but he prone and as I went over him, I felt him pick me up and throw me, doing a front flip, and landing on my back.

The air was knocked out of me, and I couldn't move for a few seconds. I then felt the attacker's foot step on my stomach pretty forcefully.

"Ha! I win again!" I heard the voice say.

I wasn't really playing around anymore, so with little strength, I threw the figure off balance, causing him to fall onto his back. Jumping up, Spark shined the light on him, and to our surprise, it was a rather young looking Houndour. He sat straight up and stared at us.

"What?" He seemed confused, pulling out his own light source.

Shining it on us, his expression changed fairly quickly.

"Whoa, you aren't the police." He seemed surprised.

"Um, no we're not..." Spark said.

He quickly got up and looked at us further.

"What is a Shinx and a Riolu doing here…? Exploring or something?" He asked.

"That's right! And I want to find some ores!" Spark exclaimed.

The Houndour scoffed.

"Best of luck, I collected everything I found down here, hehe." The Houndour laughed.

"No fair! We came from emerald city to find some stuff here!" Spark pouted

"Spark, stop being a baby. I didn't want to come in the first place." I said.

Looking towards the Houndour, I guess we should introduce ourselves.

"Ugh… Anyways, I'm Lucas, this is Spark. You are…?" I asked.

"Rex. And I kinda respect you… You give me a challenge, not like weakling over there." He reached his paw out.

Shaking it, I didn't really know what to say.

"Well… Guess this place is looted. We should head home Spark." I said.

Spark didn't even reply, he just walked off. I rolled my eyes at how childish he was being, but whatever. But before I left, I felt Rex grab my arm. He reached in his bag and pulled out a small what looked like copper bar from his bag. Placing it in my paws, he just smirked slightly.

"That should shut him up. I guess it was cool running into some adventurers. See you around." He said, going the other way.

I just nod my head and turned to follow Spark. We soon left the mine, and I gave Spark the copper, he at lease seemed a bit happy now, so that saved me hours of complaining.

We didn't want to leave, so we decided to walk around nano city to see what they have. Spark decided to go eat someplace. So I guess it wouldn't be that bad. So finding a cafe, we ate some quick food, and after finishing, we were walking down the street. Nano city was quite busy, but it wasn't really bothering me. So walking down the street, Spark stopped. Turning back, I was a bit confused, but I saw he was looking down an alley. Looking down there, I saw a small red box.

"Look! A box! I wonder what that's about!" Spark said.

"Yeah, sure, a random box in the alley way… Uh, no thanks..." I said.

"Aw, come on! Lets see!" Spark started walking towards it.

"You gotta be really blind, huh?" I said.

Running towards his side, I saw him reach down to pick it up. But out of nowhere, some sort of liquid fell on Spark, covering him in something sticky. Spark didn't seem that mad or upset, instead, he was more of in shock. But to add to whatever just happened, I saw someone fall from above, with what looked like a paintball gun. Without hesitation, the cloaked figure shot over 50 balls of paint at Spark. I just stood there, wondering what in the world was going on. By the time the figure emptied his tank of paint, Spark was already on the ground, trying to clean the paint from his face.

"Boom! Victim number 23!" I heard the voice speak.

He then removed his cloak to show his face. And I saw a Zorua standing in front of me, smirking at what he did to Spark.

"That was so not cool..." Spark groaned.

Looking at the Zorua, I spoke.

"That was awesome."

"Was going after both of you, but whatever… I still got him, ha! Hunter the prank master strikes again!" He said.

"Yeah, my names Hunter. And you are?" He asked back.

"Lucas, and the one you covered in paint and… That sticky stuff… Is Spark." I said.

"Well, not that big at welcomes… But I'm glad I was able to sabotage one of your days." He snickered.

We then spoke for a few minutes, until I felt we should get going. So lifting Spark from the ground, we walked away. As we were walking, I was talking about how epic that was, even though it was kinda messed up. Once we arrived at emerald city once again, Spark and I stood outside of my house, just about to say goodbye.

"Ugh… This is going to take forever to clean this stuff out of my fur… I guess I'll see you tomorrow..." He said, walking down the road, still covered in multiple colors.

Smiling to myself, I walked inside and fell asleep shortly after.

Saturday arrived, and I felt nice. Though playing video games would best describe my weekend, I decided to finally enjoy some time outside.

I walked to Spark's house and knocked on his door, he answered, surprisingly not covered in any paint whatsoever, I explained if he would like to do whatever, and he accepted. We ended up walking to diamond road, a place outside of emerald road.

We just lay on the grass, as I pulled out my book and began reading. I guess the relaxing setting caused me to drift off to sleep, as I remembered awaking to some noise. Looking next to me, I noticed Spark was out cold as well. So waking him up and getting up, I followed the noise. It lead me to push through some bushes, then I saw the one who was making the noise. A Poochyena, playing around the open field alone, he actually looked happy, even though no one was there.

Watching further, he had a little setup going on, as he pulled some random things out of his bag. Soon, he pulled out a notepad and some pencils and stuff. He lay on a grass and began drawing, which I kinda liked this Poochyena already, I love drawing as well for some reason. More of a gamer, but I like drawing in my free time.

Spark finally reached me after waking up, and after he saw the Poochyena, he didn't even think, he rushed out in the open and greeted the unaware Poochyena. He jumped from the voice of Spark and quickly looked at him. Guess we weren't hiding anymore, so I emerged from the bushes and walked towards the Poochyena.

The Poochyena got up and greeted us.

"Oh, hey there! Pretty nice day out, don't ya think?" He said.

"Yeah, it's really nice weather." Spark replied.

His glaze directed at me next, and he smiled. I just waved without speaking, and once we reached the Poochyena, we talked a bit.

"I'm Spark! This is Lucas!" Spark once again introduced us.

"Cool names, I'm Leon. I'm just drawing since it's so nice out!"

We then talked for a bit, had some fun, mostly Spark and Leon messing around, while I read, and before we knew it the sun was going down. So saying goodbye to Leon, we walked back to emerald city. We parted ways, and headed home.

I entered my house and relaxed for the rest of the day. This soon switched to me in my bed, ready for a nice rest for tonight...
