It was so strange: There hadn't been a cloud in the sky when Nemesis left that morning. However, as she left the grocery store - a small bag of what was to be her dinner in hand - the sky had darkened, angrily pelting everything in view with sheets of rainwater.
Earth's home always was such an odd and even temperamental place. Nemisis wished Earth would have warned her or something.
Sighing, the little asteroid tucked her food into her jacket and cautiously stuck her arm out to test the falling water.
Earth's words, "It's just water; it won't hurt you!" echoed in her head, but she was still skeptical. Nemisis had no sign of water anywhere near her home. In fact, Earth and her creatures were the only ones in possession of the odd liquid that Nemisis knew of.
That aside, Earth's sweet voice was right as always, and Nemisis soon was on her way back to the building she was staying in.
It didn't matter that rain didn't harm her; she was drenched in a very short amount of time and simply not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. Even her food was getting wet, and she was getting quite frustrated.
Before she became really pissed, a shadow descended over her, stopping the rain.
"Hello again, Nemisis," greeted a familiar voice behind her.
She turned slowly to see Estonia. All she could do was stare at him.
"I haven't seen you in a while. I thought we could...talk?" Estonia continued hopefully.
"About what?" Nemisis finally responded.
He shrugged. "Anything. I just thought you'd look more comfortable under an umbrella."
"Thank you..." she replied quietly.
Nemisis' relationship with Estonia was a strange one. He was that one person who could actually spend time with her without her running him off anymore(aside from Earth, but that was because she was a huge pest who simply wouldn't allow herself to be run off). Yet, Nemisis found it next to impossible to have a normal conversation with him.
The feeling of the cold, wet clothes enveloping her collided with her nerves, and Nemisis was soon shaking as they walked together.
"Where have you been?" Estonia asked her, draping his coat over her shoulders when he noticed the little shudders.
Nemisis jumped slightly, but took the coat nonetheless.
"Home," she told him quietly. It was true: She spent a lot of time at home. It was only recently that she felt she owed Earth a little visit.
"You should have told me you were coming to Earth's place. I've been wanting to see you," Estonia said with a small frown.
Nemisis fidgeted slightly. "You have?"
"Of course," he told her. "I like you a lot, Nemisis."
She fidgeted even more. "I-I like you, too, Estonia."
It wasn't a very long walk, thank god. They were in front of the building Earth had set aside for Nemisis very soon(Earth was very forgiving and liked Nemisis a lot).
"This is it," Nemisis told Estonia. "I guess I should go make supper."
Estonia nodded. He was turning to leave.
""I have enough for two," Nemisis said quickly in the boldest feat she'd accomplished all evening(even compared to risking being out in the rain).
Estonia brightened visibly, turning and folding his umbrella.
"I'd like that."
