(Move Along fic) Epi 1
I know there are a lot of fics, but please give this one a chance. I will post one whole episode, and if no one replies, well, I did my best. I love grey's and I want to make a fic of how I think season 4 should go. This fic will be funny, dramatic, and the greys we all love. please give it a shot... if you like it please post, if you don't please tell me.
as of right now it picks up from the finale about a couple hours later. it will be mer/der it will have some gizzie, lexie, some maddison, Gallie. Things may change as we go...
here it goes: Season 4 Epi 1 (Move Along)
Mer voice over: Sometimes, you look at life like it's half full. I mean you are dating a great guy and have great friends. you have the perfect job, I mean we cut people open for a living. Everything should be perfect right? But life doesn't always happen how you plan it. Things happen, people show up, and dissapear.. well you have two choices keep things like they are, or move along. Am I rambling, I think I'm rambling...
I'll start the epi in a minute, I am writing as I go. I have lots of ideas, and will try to keep the tone of the show, I'll try to keep it as realistic as I can, and will hopefully keep the characters in character so to speak. let me know what you think. My last fic was loved, so I hope this one is too.

george went home to callie. Izzie went to mer's house. Mer stayed with Cris.
George: (opening the door) Hey... Callie I was going to... ((callie interupts)
Callie: (excited) You will never believe what happened! (george confused) I am cheif resident! me isn't that exciting!
George: yeah it is, but... (thinking about bailey)
Callie: (a little sad) ohh, yeah I know. Did you hear about it?
George: no, I got a feeling that something happened but I guess a decision had to be made..
Callie: I know, right? I thought christina was going to call of the wedding but when meredith finally talked her into it, Burke called it off.
George: What!?! how did that happen. What about christina. The wedding? and burke? what happened?
Callie: I don't know. Christina left, burke left, and meredith told everyone to go home. I do not envy christina. See this I why I new we should elope. It was the best thing. I mean, If we would have had a wedding who knows what would have happened. right? (laughs nurvously) so did you get back your results from the intern test?
Izzie in the kitchen talking to herself: Where is the cake mix when you need it? First the george situation, the callie's getting pregnant, then christina gets walked out on. I need to bake.
(knock on the door)
Izzie: maybe it's george... (opens door) Hey, why are you here?
Alex: nice to see you too. Where's meredith?
Izzie: I don't know, she hasn't come back yet. She should be back soon.
Alex: ohh, ok.
Izzie: What's wrong?
Alex: nothing. I just wanted to talk to her. I thought she'd be here, but I guess she's not, so...
Izzie: (uncomfortable) ok. want to wait here for her? I was planning on baking some cupcakes...
Alex: You know I think I might. I could use some right now.
(over at burke's place, mer and chris on the sofa with tv on)
Chris: How could he have freakin left me? (sarcasticly) If he loved me he would let me go? I wore a freakin white wedding dress for him. I looked like a big white poofy fish for him? that's love right?
Mer: Feeling a bit better?
Chris: Nope. Feeling like crap. Feeling dark and twisty. mer, you are dark and twisty not me. I'm a robot for god's sake. Robots don't feel.
Mer: you were in love. You did what you do when you're in love. but it didn't work, sometimes things don't work out. You did the best you could.
Chris: fell in love and lost my touch, mer, I became a human. I freakin sucked, (looks scared) I failed, I don't... I don't fail.
Mer: you didn't fail, it just didn't work out. you didn't have your happy ending. But you'll be ok.
Chris: I need something to drink.
Mer: (getting up) water?
Chris: you know better than that... I need alcohol.
Der at the bar: hey joe. I heard about the twins. Congratulations. Did you pick names yet?
Joe: thanks. no, not yet. I think we're still in shock. Walter and I are so excited. I didn't think Rina would have picked us. But I'm a bit worried. You know. Two lives are in my hands. What if I screw up, you know? What if I make the wrong decision.(pauses) Did you ever want kids?
Der: yeah. I did. But I was always busy with work, so addi and I decided to wait until the time was right.
Joe: (laughs lightly) So I guess you're really never ready for kids. (pauses) What about meredith?
Der: I don't know we never really talked about it. I don't think she wants one anytime soon. you know.
Joe: yeah. Well, What can I do for you?
Der: I don't know. But I do know that I want a scotch.
Joe: coming up.
(I underlined certain word show that they are stressed)
(Bailey pacing in front of Adele's room)
Cheif: (opening the door) Is something wrong Miranda?
Bailey: yes, something is wrong! I mean, yes sir I have something on my mind and it must be said.
Cheif: go ahead then..
Bailey: Torres. I mean O'malley as Cheif resident? I mean I always thought that I did my job. I was always here when my interns needed me, when you needed me. Is there any reason that you chose her over me? cheif, because right now I don't understand. Explain it to me.
(I needed a good fic too. Thanks for reading. I'm going explore the other scenes. I'm already thinking about epi 2 and the surgical cases. They'll be good. no surgeries in this epi though...)
Alex: so what's got you in a baking mood? normally something earth-shattering happens. christina's wedding didn't happen, (joking) but that's not earth-shattering for izzie.
Izzie: (losing her cool) I'm just a little upset, ok. Can't a girl be a little upset. I mean SERIOUSLY!
Alex: (truthfully) Sorry I asked.
Izzie: (saddened) I'm sorry. It's just me and George aren't really talking right now, and I feel like I lost my best friend. ok?
Alex: ok. Well if it makes you feel any better jane doe, ava, rebecca, whatever her name is today. She was discharged.
Izzie: well that's good. She was a wreck when she came in. What about the baby?
Alex: she's good. going home too.
Izzie: so is she leaving Seattle?
Alex: yeah. Her husband came back for her.
Izzie: (happy izzie)wow. So I guess Dr. Montgomery will finally let you off of her watch huh? no more gynie?
Alex: I guess. but I'm sure she doesn't want to see me anyway.
Izzie: What??? why??? (curiouisly) what did you do?
Callie: Yeah, how were they. good?
George: (lying) Umm, yeah they were good. Callie, I'm just really tired it was a long day, and I am really tired.
Callie: ohh, ok. Well let's go to bed. I think I'll cheer you up. Do you want a massage? That'll help.
George: thanks but I don't think so, I'll just take a quick shower and I'm going to bed. I really need to be getting some sleep. you know.
Callie: (dissapointed) yeah, sure. Maybe tomarrow huh?
George: (exiting the room) yeah. Tomarrow (thinking)how am I going to tell her I failed.
Callie to self: he's hiding something. was it about izzie?
Mer and chris in the bedroom
Mer: Christina it's 1:00 in the morning. You need sleep if you are going to do any kind of surgery tomarrow. Tomarrow we won't be interns anymore. We need to be at our best.
Chris: I can't sleep. Every time I try to close my eyes I see burke. This whole apartment says burke. I can't deal with that right now.
Mer: Want me to take your mind off of it?
Chris: yeah.
Mer: ok. Want to hear about what happened with derek and the McBarW4or3?
Chris: dish...
Mer: ok, so derek tells me about her. I didn't even ask, then he says that nothing happened and it was the highlight of his week. and he flirted...
Chris: with you?
Mer: no! with McBar...
Chris: ohh. not good.
Mer: yep.
Chris: so, did he give her the mcdreamy look?
Mer: I don't know. sucks huh?
Chris: yep. goodnight.
Mer: feel better?
Chris: yep, your life is screwed up too.
(both laugh)
Mer: goodnight
(izzie and alex)
Alex: what do you mean what did I do? I did nothing.
Izzie: liar!
Alex: Alex does not lie, izzie should know that.
Izzie: Alex shouldn't start talking to izzie like that. (slightly laughing) Izzie is sad and depressed and needed baking therapy.
Alex: You know what it's getting late, I should be going. I guess Meredith isn't coming home after all.
Izzie: aren't you going to stay here? I mean you do have George's old room. It's still yours we haven't kicked you out yet. (smiles)
Alex: true, I think I'm going to bed. I'll see you in the morning. (kisses izzie on the cheek sweetly, like out of habit) Night.
Izzie: night. (thinking to self) what a day...
(Der at the bar)
der: thanks joe. just what I needed.
(girl sits next to der)
Girl: so are you in here everynight? Or is it another bachelor party?
Derek: ohh, no I um just needed a drink. Bad day.
Girl: ohh, I see. Name's lexi, So what's your story?
Derek: no story, just a guy in a bar. Drinking to avoid things. The usual.
Lexi: I see.
Derek: and you?
Lexi: just a girl in a bar, trying to meet a guy in a bar. The usual.
Joe: (looking at lexi) May I help you?
Lexi: you know I think I'll get me a drink. Tequila with lime?
Joe: Tequila? (looks at derek strangely) umm, yeah ok. tequila it is. (leaves)
Lexi: what was that about?
Der: we just know a girl who drinks tequila, she's a friend.
Lexi: lots of people drink tequila. a friend huh?
Der: yeah, I should be going. It's getting late and I have to work in the morning
Lexi: what a coincidence, me too
Der: goodbye. (starts to leave)
Mark: hey where are you going?
Der: somewhere to think. (Leaves)
Mark: ok. (sits at the bar)
Lexi: hi, I'm lexi and you are?
Mark: Mark sloan. Can I buy you a drink? (smiles)
(chief and Bailey)
Cheif: this is why I didn't chose you Miranda.
Bailey: excuse me?
Cheif: You are not on call this early in the morning. You should be at home. You have a whole new group of interns that will be showing up in about 5 hours. And you are still here at the hospital.
Bailey: but...
Cheif: you have a family, miranda. A family. You should be at home with them. Dr. Torres-O'malley doesn't. I don't want you making the same mistakes that I did. I realized it and it was too late.
Bailey: But I can do both cheif. I can do both. I am a surgeon and a mother, and a da good surgeon.
Cheif: I don't doubt that, but I can't be responsible for you losing your family or becoming any less human. I couldn't deal with that, so Goodnight dr.Bailey.
Bailey: goodnight cheif. (leaves)
(at the hotel)
Hotel person: May I help you?
Man: room for one, please
Hotel: duration of stay?
Man: I'm not really sure, Hopefully I will be out of here by tomarrow
Hotel: name?
Man: Preston Burke
Hotel: we have a vacancy in room 1045. is that ok?
Burke: sounds good. (leaves)
Addison: (checking into the hotel) room 1042 please. I seem to have forgotten my key.
Hotel person: sure Mrs. Montgomery, not a problem.
Addison: please call me Addison.
Hotel person: sure, no problem. Here's you key.
Addison: thanks.
Burke on the phone: (leaving a message) Christina answer the phone, I hate your voice mail. You never answer it. Answer the phone. Christina! I know you can hear me! Call me back.
Addison (in her room): well there is nothing keeping me in Seattle. No boyfriend, no husband, no job. Well you have a job addi just not the one you wanted. What are you going to do?
(outside a hotel room)
Lexi: so is this where you live?
Mark: well, Its just temporary for now.
Lexi: I see.
Mark: would you like to come in?
Lexi: why not?
Addi: (goes to get some ice because the freezer isn't working properly.)
Mark turns head and sees addi down the hall
Mark: (to lexi) I was thinking the same thing
(opens the door and they both enter the room)
Mer voice over: Ok, so life sucks. I mean we knew that coming into this. Things are either perfect, or they blow up in your face, or you 'need space'? You lie (george lying to callie), you cheat (mark with lexi), and you hurt people in the process (chris listening to burke's message and not picking up the phone). Surgeons aren't immune to it infact we're pretty good at it. The main part in life is choosing whether you will move along or hold onto the past (izzie eating cupcakes and thinking). Some choices are wrong, but whatever you decide it's up to you to suck it up and move along or get lost along the way.
End of epi 1. Move Along
