You are the light
That's leading me
To the place
Where I find peace again
You are the strength
That keeps me walking
You are the hope
That keeps me trusting

He looks up and he sees her, standing there, the red of her curly hair and the black of her elegant clothes, and in the blink of an eye Meredith disappears from his mind.

'Cause blond can't be compared to red.

'Cause casual can't be compared to fashion.

'Cause damaged can't be compared to perfect.

And fresh air is not fresh air anymore, if you can have the entire universe.

He wraps his arms around her neck, and inhales her sweet but strong perfume, and he senses her smile as she hesitantly hugs him back.

"You're here." he whispers in her ear, and she holds tighter, finally feeling complete.

"Honey... I missed you." she says, her voice crystal, her face a beautiful mess as he looks in her green wet eyes.

"I missed you too." he admits, and he realizes that he was the one who left her, who gave up in the middle of a fight.

They don't talk during the drive, the just look at each other, and Addison sends him an annoyed glare when they almost get hit by another car; it's immediately replaced by a soft glare, though.

He feels her tense when she sees the woods and the trailer, and he grins happily, making her get off of the car and kissing her in the rain.

She doesn't care anymore if her hair gets all messed up, and if her clothes get ruined.

'Cause taxis can't be compared to his old car.

'Cause lights and noise can't be compared to romantic darkness and peaceful silence.

'Cause Mark can't be compared to her Derek.

"I love you." she tells him, and she knows that he feels it too, even if he doesn't say it back, because with his next move he's lifting her up to take her inside, and it's all a mixture of laughters, and tickling and, most of all, love.

A/N: I thought about this while I was going to school, listening to the song "Everything" by Lifehouse. It should've gone this way on the show, even though 'you're the woman who's been screwing my husband' was genial. Don't ya think?
