Butterfly Wing Series:

The Beginning

Chapter One

As she imagined winning the competition, her parents were planning a surprise for her. Lisa's parents had a maid so they asked her, Alice, if she could make two cakes for Lisa. One saying "Congratulations Lisa!" and the other saying, "You still did a good job, Lisa!" Lisa is a swimmer at a local indoor swimming pool and had been swimming there since she was 9 years old. This year was the competition and the winner received a mountain bike and a trip to Hawaii. So this year, Lisa really wanted to win and invite her three best friends.

Her best friends always came over because Lisa's house was huge and had everything any teenager could ask for; four bedrooms, five lavish marbled bathrooms, a library, a gourmet kitchen, a magnificent raised living room with the finest custom flooring and designer ceiling, a formal dining room, one unique full wet bar for her parents' and guests, a dramatic two-story staircase, a sauna, soothing spa tubs, mantled fireplace, two custom built entertainment centers, a sparkling tiled in-ground swimming pool and separate spa surrounded by fountains and statues with tropical landscaping.

"Mom, Dad, we need to go!" Lisa said. She was wearing her swimsuit under the clothes she wore. "I swear, if they make me late, I will... I don't know what I will do..." Lisa muttered. She looked to her right and saw Alice putting something in the fridge. "Oh! Did you just make something, Alice?" Lisa asked her.

"Um, yea, but it's not done yet," Alice replied. Alice thought, Just hope she doesn't come over here to see what it is since the two cakes are in here! "All right, I'm ready. Stacie, are you ready to go?" Lisa's father asked. He looked at the staircase and his wife was coming down the stairs wearing a knee-length floral dress. "You look nice. Going to a tea party with your friends?" asked Nick. His wife just looked at him and shook her head. "Is that what you're wearing to my competition? Mom! Do you honestly think that you can pull that off wearing a dress like that, to my competition? It's a swimming event! Not a summer dress ball!" Lisa exclaimed. She sighed and watched her mother walk up the stairs to change. She went outside and called her friends telling that she was on her way to pick them up.

"All right. I changed. Is this better?" Callie asked Nick. He looked at her Capri's and green shirt with tiny blue flowers on it, tied with a sash on the back. "It's much better. Let's go. Her friends are waiting and the meet starts in half an hour," Nick said. They headed outside and got in the car with Lisa.
