Albus stood up abruptly, his chair scraping on the floor, "No!"
Gellert sighed, his golden hair glinting in the sunlight coming in through the window, "Albus. I know you love her, but if we leave Ariana with Aberforth, we can go search for the hallows!"
Albus closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, "You don't understand, do you? She's my sister! She's my sister and she's suffering! I can't just leave her alone. I just can't."
Gellert stood up next to him, placing his long arms around Albus's skinny frame, "Just think, Albus. Just think. Masters of death! Think of the power, the glory! You and I, together, taking over the world."
Albus smiled, placing his arms around Gellert's waist, "You do have a nasty habit of changing minds, Gell."
Gellert grinned, "We can do so much! Your sister - she won't have to stay in seclusion anymore. She'll even be revered!"
Albus smiled, "You don't think this is the wrong path to go down?"
Gellert laughed, throwing back his head, "Quite the contrary, dear one. I don't only think, I know, this is not the wrong, but the absolute, clear cut, right path."
Albus kissed him softly on the lips, "You make everything sound so easy when it's so complicated."
Gellert smiled sadly, "It doesn't have to be complicated, Al." he rested his head on Albus's shoulder, "This? This is so easy."
Albus smiled back. It truly was.
Suddenly the door burst open, and Albus and Gellert sprang apart. Aberforth stood in the doorway, his pale face flushed with anger.
He walked over to them, narrowing his eyes, "What are you two doing?"
Gellert sneered down at him, instantly changing from loving to condescending, "We're discussing important matters. Now go play with the rest of the children."
Aberforth clenched his fists in anger, and almost shouted a reply before Albus interjected, "Abe, don't think of it. What do you need?"
Aberforth glared at Gellert, "Ariana needs dinner."
Albus nodded, "I'm coming in a few minutes. I'll be right there." Aberforth nodded and turned on his heel.
Albus rounded on Gellert in anger once Aberforth was gone, "How? How could you speak to my brother so?"
Gellert pointed a shaking finger towards the door in which Aberforth just walked through, "That - that child doesn't understand how important this is! He thinks he can just barge in here and mess up all of our plans just for the sake of your sister."
Albus slammed his fist on the table, "My sister is everything!" he roared, no longer happy with Gellert, "How could you speak so superior-like to my siblings? They are important to me, and if you want to be with me, then they should be important to you too." and with that he left without a backwards glance.

"Al?"
Albus faced the window, and Gellert stood tentatively in the doorway, a worried expression on his face.
Albus turned, his face angry, "What do you want?"
Gellert crossed the threshold and went to sit down next to Albus, "I just wanted to say...I'm sorry."
Albus sighed, "Gell, if you want to be with me, you have to understand how important my family is to me."
"I know." Gellert took Albus's hand and pressed it to his heart, "I love you."
Albus looked at him in shock, "You-you what?"
Gellert smiled sadly, his forehead creased with worry lines, "I love you, Al."
Albus stared, "I-I love you too, Gell."
Gellert grinned and leaned in to kiss Albus. Albus responded enthusiastically, wrapping his arms around Gellert, running his hands through Gellert's long, wiry, golden hair.
Gellert pulled away, "Do you promise we'll be together always?"
Albus smiled and wound his fingers in Gellert's hair, "I promise, Gell."
