"We were inseparable, you and me,
Ever since you came to Mission Creek, it was just meant to be.
I loved you from the moment I saw you,
That is something that I can't deny to you.
When you told me your name it was like heaven on earth,
It was like God planned for us to find each other even before birth.
Then I invited you to our school dance,
And somehow, we formed a romance.
We got really close to each other,
We would never leave the other for another.
We shared some secrets from within,
That's just how we've always been.
Then I got too busy with my missions,
And all you wanted was one simple petition.
That we would never let anything come between,
What we had between you and me.
But for the first time in my life I broke the rules,
It wasn't until now that I realized I was such a fool.
Now because of my selfish behavior,
I now realize I am such a failure.
I know you'll never take me back and you have your reasons why,
But I never even got to say goodbye.
I know you don't want to see someone who is "rotten to the core",
But the thing that's brothering me most is: we don't talk anymore."
Chase looked up from his paper. Bree was in shock. "Wow, Chase. That was…" "Great," He cut in as he folded up the paper. But he didn't seem happy. "I know. That's what Mr. Davenport said too."
"So are you going to enter it into the contest at school?" Bree asked. Chase shrugged. "I don't think so. It's kinda… private." "Okay. I understand. You know you can't keep blaming yourself, right?" Bree reminded him. Chase knew exactly what Bree was talking about. He based this poem off of someone who was so special to him, and then… Well, you know the rest.
Bree patted him on the shoulder and left the lab. Chase pulled his phone out of his pocket and stared down at the blank screen for a few seconds. Then, he turned it on and unlocked it.
He then went right into iMessage and looked up her name. Maybe he could just say, "Hey." He started typing, "Hey. How are you doing?" But as he looked at the screen more, he decided not to. He erased it.
She saw that Chase was typing and her heart beat really fast. But… When she seen that he deleted it, her faced dropped once again. Chase sat down in Mr. Davenport's chair and started going through his pictures. They were flooded of old memories of him and his special lady.
A tear rolled down his cheek. He just couldn't stop the pain. How was he so stupid? He held his phone to his chest and cried. Just remembering his last line in his poem: "We don't talk anymore."
-THE END
Maybe I'll make a sequel, maybe I won't. But I like how the story played out because not always will I have happy endings. Anyway, it's my one-year anniversary and I wanted to do something special for you guys. I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for one year and hopefully many more to come.
Alright, I'm out,
-Angie
