They had finally done it.
It had been hours since he had even moved more than a few steps but, as Steve leant his forehead against the shatterproof glass, he felt like he might still be breathing hard.
For weeks and months, they had searched for his best friend and now they had him. It hurt to watch Bucky in there, restrained and contained behind glass, connected to far too many machines.
Watching him like this might have been heartbreaking but the little heart monitor Bucky was connected to that gave off a steady beep, made everything worth it. Because that meant Bucky was here; he was alive.
After months of uncertainty, Bucky was finally here; and Steve would do anything to keep it like that.
