Albus Dumbledore stared Barty Crouch Jr in the eyes. The young man had come before him as a last desperate chance to avoid his fate.

"Listen Mr. Dumbledore... I'm sorry I really am and I know that at this point I've done far too much damage for you to award me any forgiveness but mercy please I beg of you! I can't bear to be... you know... to have my....."

Dumbledore shook his head at the boy, he was so young, so full of life and yet he'd given it all to the dark lord and now was here before him as doomed soul. His fate hung in his hands, Dumbledore knew there would be no hope of redemption, but whether the boy suffered a penalty far worse then death or died with some dignity he did have a say.

"Alright Barty, I knew your dad and I knew him well, and for him, not you, I will afford you dignity in death, however it does not come without a cost. Your crimes were great and they cannot be undone. You've even stooped so low as to kill your own father and for that I can never forgive you."

"I understand." The young man was on his knees yet with the old man's words, his face lit up like he'd been given a second chance at life. "Name your price, I'll do anything! Anything!"

"Well I think it would be only appropriate that you atone for your sins by bringing joy into a poor souls life rather than stealing it."

"Charity? Sure I've always secretly wanted to do some charity work. Can I help orphans?"

"No, I know a soul who is in far more in need."

"Really? Who could be more needing than orphans?" Barty thought, "Oh perhaps I could help by volunteering in an animal shelter. Every stray we take in needs just as much love and care as a human being"

"No, that's still not what I had in mind." The old wizard moved so he was directly in front of Barty, who was still on his knees.

"Well then I really don't understand."

"Oh you will." Said the wizard, moving his robes and unzipping his pants.

"...Uh... Dumbledore?" Barty looked up at him confused.

"What.... when you get old it get's really hard to get good loving!"
