Winter's Afternoon

The snow fell gently outside the Central Headquarters. The children had just been let out from school. Many of them began to throw snowballs at each other, thus starting the 'war' between friends and family that involved handfuls of the crystallized water. The blond sighed as he tore his gaze from the fight to the never ending pile of papers that needed to be read and passed along, with shortened notes, to the Colonel to sign 'yes' or 'no' to. The readings were long and rather boring. There were few reports that involved any fights or alchemy to keep the tired teen's interest. He would reread the same sentence multiple times before it would finally register. Putting the paper back on the top of the pile, he grabbed the whole thing and made his way to the door that led to the inner office. He knocked briefly then entered not waiting for an answer. He walked in, sat on one of the black leather couches, and placed his papers on the small coffee table.

With a tired sigh, he walked over to the paper covered desk that a raven haired man sat behind. He gave a soft giggle and walked around into the elder's line of sight. Placing a gloved hand on the other's shoulder, the young blond slipped into the older's lap.

"Are you okay?" the dark eyes questioned.

The boy nodded. He placed a hand to the other's cheek. He lifted his lips to the elder's.

The strong arms wrapped around his slender torso. The boy was pushed gently down onto the messy desk. The heater kicked on. Their bodies warmed with an unsatisfied need, they needed to be with each other.

The two moved as one, in a rhythm that only the other could give. This was nothing new, at least not for them. The heater turned off after a few. The room grew colder, though they were both still warm. They couldn't stop; their love was left for so long that they needed the touch of their perfect half.

Edward sat in his lap again. He gave a long slow sigh.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I am now," he giggled.

"Oh really?" the elder laughed.

The blonde smiled. It was rare for him to say how he really felt, always avoiding contact and pushing people who cared away.

These were the times that Roy said a silent thanks to whoever convinced this golden eyed beauty that he could be trusted.

The blond whispered something into his ear. It was sweet. The red lips gently brushed against his cheek. Roy gave a shudder as the boy murmured kind words to him. A giggle escaped the boy, and arms went around his neck. He loved being with him. He loved his little alchemist; Edward Elric.

They spent their afternoon together; a wonderful winter's afternoon.
