To say that Rose was surprised by The Doctor's choice of destination was an understatement. They had visited frozen beaches and to alien carnivals, rock concerts and the world's fair but never ever had they been to a water park, human or alien. Nevertheless here they were, The TARDIS had landed them in Wisconsin right smack in the middle of summer in 1987 and it was hot.

Rose had never been to a water park before, she had also never seen The Doctor in a swimming costume and it certainly gave her a weird feeling in her stomach. She smiled at The Doctor and took his hand as they practically skipped over to the entrance of the park The Doctor pulling out his psychic paper out of his pocket giving the attendant a friendly smile.

After The Doctor had given Rose a tube of purple sun cream that he explained would last all day and was waterproof, they'd spent the early part of the day in a wave pool, laughing gleefully as the waves crashed into them ,some powerful enough to knock them under the water.

Once the novelty of the wave pool had worn off, The Doctor grabbed Rose's hand and led her towards a tall water slide, requiring inner tubes to make their way down. Rose followed along a great big smile on her face, there was no trouble here, no aliens come to take over the world, no Daleks, no Cybermen, just her and The Doctor. It was the most carefree she had felt in a long time.

They grabbed their inner tube and made their way up the stairs of the Black Thunder and Rose could see The Doctor practically vibrating with excitement as they awaited their turn.

"It's completely pitch dark in there you know," he said to her. "It's so you don't know what surprises are coming at you." He finished with a wide smile on his face.

Rose arched her brow at The Doctor, "Will it be scary?" she teased, the tip of her tongue poking between her teeth. "Don't you worry Doctor, I'll protect you."

The Doctor puffed his chest out and opened his mouth to speak just as the queue started moving rapidly up the steps. "Come on now Doctor let's go!" Rose shouted as she grabbed their inner tube.

They were both at the top now, a few more people were ahead of them, and Rose was admittedly beginning to feel a bit intimidated at the sheer height of the water slide. The Doctor gave her a great big grin as he sat their tube down on top of the slide, they sat on it and once they'd received their green light he turned to Rose from the front and said to her "Ready?" She simply responded by laying her hands flat on the slide and pushing them off. They began to slide down at an incredibly speed and her shrieks of excitement were echoing amongst the walls of the dark water slide.

Different surprises met them through their quick journey in the slide, twists and turns, waterfalls and tiny little dips. It was incredible, and it was over too quickly as they saw the light in front of them at the opening of the slide. Their tube splashed them down into a shallow pool and Rose jumped into The Doctor's arms and kissed him passionately on the lips.

"Oh, err, wow" He sputtered at her, blushing slightly and running a hand through his messy wet hair. Rose simply smiled at him and pulled his hand.

"Come on now, Doctor we have to go again!" She said grabbing the tube and exiting the pool. The Doctor grinned at retreating form and went to follow.
