Gregory Goyle stood in front of his mirror combing the last wayward strands of hair into place. He put on his best robes and adjusted the ruffles on his sleeves. The finishing touch was the breath spay he applied as he looked at himself approvingly. Smiling like a kid in a candy shop he strolled out of the Slytherin dorm room.
"Dressed a little fancy aren't we... Wait... don't tell me you've got a date!" Mocked Malfoy who was waiting outside in the common room.
"So what if I do?" Retorted Goyle with a sneer and he left his friend looking utterly shocked in his seat.
Goyle made his way through the hallways smiling all the way. Known for being a... character, many were shocked by his appearance and demeanour yet non bothered to question him as Malfoy had. At most, a curious Harry Potter had spied on him until he'd left the castle for the grounds around it.
Once out of eyesight, Goyle hastened his pace. He'd never been on a real date before and he was certainly anxious, especially as he was well past the age when good dates led to... well, you get it. He walked past a couple groups of pretty girls yet didn't bother to bat an eye at them. He knew what was waiting for him and it was FAR better.
As he neared a small hill near the Lake he allowed for a bit of a spring to enter his step and he was all by skipping by the time he arrived. Setting out a small blanket on the edge of the lake he prepared for the arrival of his date. He put out some flowers and small sandwiches among other tasty goodies. Finally satisfied that his pick nick set up was perfect, he layed back and relaxed, awaiting the arrival of his companion.
It wasn't long before Pansy Parkinson arrived and sat down, poking Goyle with a stick. "I notice you're set up for two here Gregy." She smiled, "Oh and are these flowers for me?"
Goyle snapped up from his afternoon nap and looked at the new arrival, "Uh sorry Parkinson, I'm kinda waiting for someone... more special... and better looking."
"Well Gregory Goyle!" She got up furiously, "I've never been...." She stopped abruptly as a giant squid began to rise from the lake, "Oh my god!" She shrieked fleeing the scene in terror.
"Finally." Groaned Goyle, "I thought she'd never leave." He looked up at the giant squid, "Don't worry I didn't let her get any of your mini sandwiches, I know they're your favourite." He smiled and ran a hand down the squids closes tentacle.
The squid smiled, if it was physically capable of doing so and the pair began their afternoon in each others appendages.
