It wasn't always like this between them. No, at one time there was an arrow and a tomb to bring them together. That however isn't the case anymore, not since New Caprica, hell not even since Billy had died.
But that's where this all started, with Billy. She'd gone to see Laura, to tell her that she was sorry. Laura had pulled her into a kiss, and things just escalated from there. By the end of the night they were lying in her cot on colonial one, Laura crying and Starbuck thinking of the mess that her life had become.
They used to be in love, or so she thought. They used to have something more than late night fraks in the admiral's quarters. But now this was it, since Leoben, since the cancer, since earth... this was all they had left, each other.
She'd heard from Lee that when she died Laura hadn't taken it hard at all, just turned to the old man. But then again, Laura the leader would never show her pain. Laura the person... that was a different story.
The thought that Laura really did mourn her, well that was what brought her here in the first place. The bullet that she'd shot at her, Starbuck still had it. She knew that it was a sick way to carry Laura with her, but it was all she had.
Earth had changed them, Laura the most, however finding your body in a viper did quite a bit for a girl's psyche too. Her death being verified in her mind, well that had been the icing on the cake. Lee was like a puppy, always following her... hoping to get back what they had before. But no, her thoughts were completely on Laura now, she wasn't going to let her slip away this time.
Even though she still had second thoughts about doing this in the admiral's rack she couldn't focus on them over the Laura's pants and moans. She curled her fingers inside of the other woman and brushed her clit with her thumb, pushing her over the edge.
As Laura got up, straightened her wig and put her clothes back on Starbuck wondered if this would be the last time. She put on her jacket and snuck out, not wanting anyone to see her mussed hair and her rumpled clothes.
Climbing into her rack she stared at the ceiling, wondering what was next for them. A tear trickled over her temple, and onto her ear. Laura was dying, she was dead, this was the end for them both... and she knew it.
