What if Thackary Binx had continued to live as a human being, after his curse was broken?
This is only a little bit of fun, so I'd rather not have people complaining how lacking in plot this is at the moment. Then again, I'm not sure If anyone will read this, but oh well! On with the story!
Year: 2013
Thackary Binx appeared to be approximately sixteen to seventeen years of age, to the utterly clueless observer. However, in reality, he was nearing 337. He would be celebrating with his family in a matter of days. At this point in his life, he had a wife and children. A wife? Yes. For hundreds of years, Thackary had been ignorant to the fact hundreds of humans were cursed by soulless witches seeking retribution.
A mere few weeks after his ordeal in Salem had ended, America had encountered a British woman claiming she'd spent the last 200 years of her existence as a loveable house-cat because she'd ridiculed a witch's hat and had been cursed in the process. Oh dear Hex, she would never live that humiliation down, but she found it highly amusing now she'd regained the use of opposable thumbs. When the initial humiliation had faltered, the apparent teenage girl had enrolled in Salem High school, where the pair met and fell in love. So, once noble stray cat had been elevated to the post of 'family man'.
Hex and Binx still resided in Salem, and had three children- Emily aged 10, Dani aged 7- then finally little Max, aged 3. They were raised well, in a loving home, which appreciated whatever they had. When you spent hundreds of years in the sewers eating rats, you learnt to savour those little moments where you could be mildly content.
However, there were issues. Considering both Hex and Binx looked not a day older than the day they'd been cursed. When Emily had been a baby, it was easily to be perceived as teenage parents. But now Emily was ten, and they had two more. They were often forced to pretend the children were cousins or indirect relatives.
But honestly? The town of Salem had experienced worse, and were more than happy to turn a blind eye to the strangeness and impossibility. Only in Salem could they be accepted.
I will write more, this is just a taster to see how it goes! If I get a review, I will certainly write more! :)
