A/N: Warning: This is a SLASH fic. This is a slightly long drabble starring Hitsugaya Toushirou and Kurosaki Ichigo. Ichigo is worried about forgetting his boyfriend after he dies… As usual, the fascinating characters of Bleach do not belong to me but to their esteemed creator. ENJOY!

Forget

'Shirou-chan…'

'It's Hitsugaya-taichou.'

'Toushirou...'

'It's Hitsugaya-taichou!'

Silence.

More silence.

Toushirou peeked up from his paperwork. Maybe he had snapped a little coldly but surely Ichigo couldn't be angry because of that?

'Kurosaki?'

Silence.

The orange head just opposite Toushirou didn't even move. Instead, it dipped down even further, orange bangs a curtain of silk over Ichigo's features. Now, Toushirou was worried.

'Kurosaki?'

Ichigo blinked as teal blue filled his vision. Startled, he jumped back with a slight squeak. Truly disturbed by his boyfriend's uncharacteristic behaviour, Toushirou climbed on to his Ichigo's lap, something he would never do. Bewildered by Toushirou's forwardness, the orange-head Shinigami could only gape at the captain.

The silence was beginning to get to Toushirou. 'Will you please tell me what's got you in such a state, Ichigo?'

At Toushirou's voice calling his name, Ichigo seemed to snap out of his trance. But, his awareness only caused his expression to darken.

'You know, Toushirou…'

Ignoring the lack of title, the white-haired prodigy waited patiently. It was clearly something important that had been bothering Ichigo, to mute the usually vibrant boy.

Ichigo took a deep breath. 'Someone told me that you won't remember your life when you die, I mean, the person you were before dying, the people you knew before dying…' He trailed off before muttering in a barely audible voice, '…so does that mean I will forget you?'

Toushirou stiffened.

Sensing his boyfriend's sudden tension, Ichigo hurried on, 'I mean, I don't want to forget you. I don't want to forget us. I like being with you, I love you.' He hugged the Shinigami on his lap, his own body tight as a coiled spring. A little desperately, Ichigo asked, 'You will remind me right? When we meet again? About us? If I forget…'

Pulling himself away from Ichigo's arms, Toushirou slid to the floor.

'No.'

A startled gasp escaped Ichigo.

Teal blue met brown.

'If you forget us, forget me, I won't remind you.'

With that, the white-haired captain turned and left.

'Because if you can really forget me, it means you never loved me.'

Gaping at the empty doorway, Ichigo's mind barely grasped Toushirou's parting words.

Then, he laughed.

Of course. Ichigo would never forget Hitsugaya Toushirou.

Because even if his mind did…

…his heart never would.
