AN: This fanfic takes place during Kingdom Hearts II, sometime between Olympus Coliseum and Timeless River. The first few lines are taken verbatim from one of the flashbacks during Timeless River.
"Mark my words, there'll be no place for you when our time comes!" Maleficent yelled at her bumbling minion, Pete. Pete's idiocy always irritated her but this time she was madder than ever before. The bumbling fool had tried to replace her during her absence and had allowed Organization XIII to gain power, something she would never have allowed.
Maleficent began to walk away. She looked back to Pete and scoffed, "Useless IMBECILE!"
"But-but... but I..." Pete pleaded back to the witch but she had already walked away.
"Ugh, why do I always allow the little people to upset me?" Maleficent said to herself clenching her fist, "Well I think it's high time I paid the Organization a little visit..." She disappeared in a flurry of green flames.
"The time draws near, my brothers," Xemnas said to his fellow Organization members, "soon we shall be whole again."
The remaining members chattered and nodded in approval. Their numbers had been greatly reduced after the ordeal at Castle Oblivion. Now, only seven remained: Xemnas, Saïx, Xigbar, Xaldin, Luxord, Demyx, and Axel. They all gathered in a large, circular white room with no windows and no doors. They each had a tall throne that's height was based on their rank. Down below, the floor was painted with the emblem of the Nobodies.
Suddenly, a green flame appeared on the Nobody emblem on the floor. From the flames, Maleficent emerged.
"Why, it's Maleficent," Saïx said.
"What does she want?" Xaldin replied.
Maleficent looked around the room at the different members, smiling a wicked smile.
"Well, quite a glittering assemblage, Xemnas," Maleficent monologued, "With such festive hair styles."
She gestured to Demyx, Axel, and Xigbar respectively while speaking, "Mullets. Spikes. Ponytails. And..." She laughed when her eyes moved to Xaldin, "How quaint, even dreadlocks."
Xaldin shot her a hateful glare and was about to leap out at the witch but was restrained by Xigbar. Maleficent turned back to Xemnas.
"I've really been quite distressed at your moving in on my territory," Maleficent stated.
"Can you blame us?" Xemnas retorted, "You're completely unqualified to harness the powers of Kingdom Hearts. You're much too incompetent."
"Incompe-," Maleficent stated with mock surprise. She lightly chuckled, "Oh dear, what an awkward situation. I had hoped it was merely due to some oversight. Well in that event, I'd best be on my way."
"So you're not mad?" Demyx asked, having been completely lulled into the witch's trap.
"Why no, your excellencies," Maleficent spat, "And to show I bear no ill will, I shall award you all with a gift."
Everyone was uneasy by the witch's mock admiration.
"Listen well, all of you!" Maleficent roared as thunder boomed, "Kingdom Hearts shall indeed grow in grace and beauty, fully in power for your plot."
Xemnas and Saïx exchanged confused looks.
"But," Maleficent stated, the tone of her voice changing from light and pleasant to harsh and angry, "Before you can utilize it's power, you shall each by defeated, by the hands of the key bearer, and DIE!"
Maleficent cackled gleefully at the curse that she had just placed upon these fools.
"Seize that creature!" Xemnas yelled as several Dusks appeared.
"Stand back you fools!" Maleficent shouted as flames rose from behind her.
Maleficent cackled as she evaporated into a flurry of flames until all that was left was an eerie green glow.
