The Arrival
The room was bare. The soft falls and rises of Connors snoring. A flitter of light wings, then a soft moan. Rex glided onto the soft bed cover and startled the spider, which was eaten by Rex. Connor awoke in sharp jerk, almost scaring the life out of Rex. His anomaly detector bleeped furiously at him. A crash filled the kitchen downstairs. The anomaly had opened in Abbeys house!
Connor crept downstairs to be seen by raptors, a whole group of them! He scrambled back upstairs and jumped out of the window, waking Abby on the way. The cry of one of raptors drew attention to the others and the raptors stormed upstairs as if on a drug raid.
"Holy Jesus" muttered Connor slipping on a sweatshirt he'd grabbed out the door.
