Hermione felt awful. She hated being ill. Her nose was stuffy and she hated that she'd never thought of looking up spells against cold and flus. She was at the Burrow for the Winter but everyone had gone away for a few days or at least she'd thought everyone had until the twins had apparated in one day. They'd stayed behind to take care of the shop and now they were taking turns staying with Hermione whilst she recouperated her strength. Hermione found the twins quite cute especially when they got the confused looks on their faces.
The twins had been looking after her for two days now and Hermione knew she was in trouble. Big trouble. She was falling for Fred. Today was Fred's turn and she knew that meant lots of soup. Fred's solution to sickness was soup and tea and long hours watching romantic films. Turns out Fred had quite a thing for romantic films which made it even harder for Hermione. After a soup and tea Fred apparated her into the lounge holding her in his arms. He placed her gently on the sofa over her so her legs were over his lap. He quickly conjured a blanket and began the film. Today the film was a favourite of Hermione's from her days as a plain old muggle. The Scarlet Pimpernel. It was an old film but Hermione loved the flair and the cleverness of the lead. It turned out Fred did too.
Fred clicked the film off turning to look at the sleeping girl lying over him. She was so peaceful when she slept. Tomorrow him and George had decided to tell her the truth. Fred only hoped Hermione felt the same way and wouldn't get too angry about what they'd done.
George and him stood in front of Hermione who surprisingly felt miraculously better. Hermione looked at the twins and instantly felt worried. They looked guilty. She knew they'd done something but she couldn't think of anything they might have done wrong. It was Fred's voice that spoke first.
'Hermione we need to tell you something. You see me and George have been drugging you to make you sick.'
Hermione stood up shocked. She glared at the twins as she raised her voice.
'How dare you ? What possible reason would you even have for doing that to me ?'
Fred shifted and it was George that spoke this time. Ratting Fred out before he had a chance to explain.
'Hermione please don't be mad but this was all my idea the sickness that is but Fred's in love with you and I thought it would help you notice him.'
George apparated out of the room quickly before either Hermione or his brother could assault him. Fred faced Hermione the shock on their faces identical. Hermione's head cleared first and suddenly it all made sense they'd drugged the soup. The romance films. She should have known he was trying to get with her, they'd had little flirts but she'd thought it was all in her mind. Moving forward Hermione pressed her lips to Fred feeling him stiffen before relaxing into her.
A large cough broke the couple apart as they both turned sheepishly to face the returned Weasley's. Fred's arm went around Hermione as his smirk appeared.
'Sorry about the show.'
