Broken Smile

Your smile is throwing me off
I can't see what you hold inside
I wonder how you feel right now
The feelings you try to hide

You have the world on your shoulders
But your smile seems to persevere
Yet it holds a darker emotion
While ever still remaining sincere

I can never understand your fate
The burden that you hold
And how you can still be so innocent
When the world treats you so cold

How can you smile like you do?
When your destiny seems to hate you so
When death is a consent factor
Yet your laughter won't let it show

Can you hear me calling out to you?
In my dreams where I only see you dying,
Those restless nights I shake and stir
Awoken by the tears I was crying

I can't hold on to you
If you refuse to let me try
It's seems you want to let me go
But you cannot say good-bye
----
How much more will you suffer?
How much more can you take?
'Cause you're about to fade away
And have already started to break
----
I want to save you this time
To six the smile they've broken
To heal the wounds inside
Of which you've never spoken
----
Won't you let me heal the scars?
That have been inflicted over the years,
Cannot I be the one for once,
To help you dry your tears?
