"Amon?"

"Hmm?"

"Why do you stay with me?" the young woman asked hesitantly.

Amon quirked his eyebrow in Robin's direction. "What do you mean 'why'? I told you I would."

"Is that the only reason?" The blond witch had her back to him, but he could hear the underlying fear.

"I'm not planning on hunting you, if that's what you are afraid of," he answered in his practiced nonchalance.

"Well, that's good to know," Robin replied sarcastically.

"Robin, what's bothering you?" The man continued to show no emotion in his voice, though her response brought a wry smirk to his lips.

After several heartbeats, she finally responded. "You don't have to stay with me if you don't want to. You could always go home..."

"Do you want me to leave?"

"No, but I feel bad that you're stuck hiding with me."

"There's nowhere I'd rather be, Robin."

Robin looked down at her hands, a small smile playing on her lips as her guilt fluttered away before her mind turned to why he would rather be here than anywhere else.

A/N: Just a little thing that got into my head and wouldn't go away. It might find it's way into something larger some day, but it might not. We shall see.
