I always knew I was a little different from other people.

So when my mother told me that I was a quarter Kitsune, I wasn't that surprised.

I was actually relieved.

"What do you mean you're relieved?" she asked, quite surprised by my reaction. "I just mean that I've known for a while, that in some little way, I'm different then others."

"Well, it seems that she has already excepted her fate then." My mother and I both turned to my grandmother. She took a long drag from her pipe, and then released the grey smoke from her soft peach lips.

"What do you mean by my fate, grandma?" She took one last drag from her pipe, and then blew the grey smoke into the air.

"You, my dear, are to become the next head of the Hisakawa Clan."

My life as the next head had just begun.
