Prologue
I watched him sail away that day with nary a glance behind. He had asked me to wait here, on this cursed isle, for him to return, but seven years is a long time to wait. Unbeknownst to him, I had already started considering my option. Jack had agreed to wait for me until the next sunrise. If I hadn't come back to my ship by then the crew was free to choose a new captain and leave me behind. I was already fairly certain what my choice would be. While I love Will with all my heart, I'm a free spirit. There is a reason I fell madly in love with a pirate. Of course, I will make sure that I am back here in plenty of time to meet him. But I don't want to just survive, I want to fly.
