Everybody was there, in their loft's living room to celebrate Kate and Rick's wedding which took place a couple of weeks before. Ryan and his wife were the first to arrive and thirty minutes later, Gates, Tori, Lanie and Espo finally arrive on the apartment.
Kate and Rick had decided to ask a jazz band to come and they asked too Maddie, one of Kate's best friend who works in a restaurant, to invite a cook, George Polon, to make food.
The party started well because everyone was happy and because Maddie and Lanie had prepared a little speech for their friend.
"Kate, when we met, we were in university in Stanford" started Lanie "We were only 18, we were really happy but we didn't know much about life"
"We spent our time trying to imagine what will become our future" said Maddie
"Today, Kate, our future is present and I have to tell you yours is pretty good"
"You are married to a great man and you became a great cop. You succeed at making everyone around you feeling good. We are here today to celebrate this evolution"
At the end of the speech, Kate said a huge "Thank you" to her friend and hugged them. Then, Ryan and Esposito decided to sing a little thing for them.

At the end of that really good song, Rick said "Thank you" to his friend and some minutes later, the music started. Everybody was dancing except Rick who was looking at her wife. With her he felt safe. She was everything for him, his family. His family was there.
Some minutes later, Jim, Kate's father decided to speak to Rick. They went together in Rick's office.
"Richard, Kate told me you really want to know what I think about you. Is that true ?"
"Yes, of course, you are one of the most important person in Kate's life and I want to make her happy and I don't want to be the guy between you and your daughter !"
"Rick, you have to know you absolutely changed Kate's life in a good way. With you, she feels alive and she can be who she really is. I thank you for that"

They joined the living room and thirty minutes later, everybody was left. There were just Rick and Kate, two lovers, a family composed of two people
