Disclaimer: I don't own Atlantis or any of the charactors.

A/N: I wrote a story and posted it a few weeks after my other one. I'm so proud of myself. I am horrible at updating. If you haven't noticed that's why I only write one shots. So, enjoy the story...

Smile

"I can't believe he's coming." Elizabeth gushed, smiling, a now almost permanent fixture on her face.

John leaned back in his chair. "That's awesome Liz! I'm really happy for you."

Sighing, she asked, "John, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." he said.

"John!"

"Really. It's just been a rough day. Remind me to get a new alarm clock."

Elizabeth smiled replacing a worried expression she held a moment before.

It made him happy that she was smiling so much and that she much getting real sleep and actually eating real meals.

"There was a time I though he wouldn't come." she said shadows passing over her face, "But he's coming."

"I wasn't gong to say any thing but I can't help myself." she said practically glowing.

He felt his heart sinking. To a protected place deep inside himself. Where he couldn't get hurt.

"Simon asked me to marry him." she said in a rush, "I never thought he would. Our relationship has been rocky. He though something might be happening back here on -."

"I am happy for you." John said taking her hand.

"You're sure?" she asked giving him a piercing look that caught his eyes.

He looked back before turning away. "Of course."

Elizabeth smiled again letting go of his hand.

He smiled in return.

Smiled. While his heart was breaking.
