George had finally returned to the Big Harbor after his big job on the ocean. He had been away for a few days, away from his home and friends. As he floated to the dock, is friends Hank and Theodore raced up to him.
"George, you'll never believe what happened!" called Theodore.
"Yes, it's an amazing story. Let me tell you!" said Hank.
"No I want to tell him. Please?" begged Theodore.
But George only wanted to rest and he calmly brushed off the two harbor tugs, "Sorry Hank and Theodore, but I just want to rest."
"But George..." whined Hank.
"No buts," said George and he sailed away to the dock to take a much needed rest.
He secured himself and shut his eyes to drift off to sleep. Suddenly, Hank and Theodore raced up to him. Accompanied by Emily.
"Hey George," began Hank, "Now can we tell you the story?"
"We've decided, that each one of us will tell our part," added Theodore.
"And since Foduck's doing an inspection, I'll tell his part," continued Emily.
Now George was getting grumpy. He only wanted to rest, but his friends wanted to tell him the story. So once again, he brushed off the other tugboats.
"I said, I will listen to it when I wake up," he said, trying to stay calm. But the interruptions from his rest were starting to make him grumpy.
The other tugboats sadly sailed away to do their jobs, leaving George to finally get his rest.
Later that afternoon, George was taking a nap, when Foduck came towards him.
"Hey! You'll never guess what happened while you were away!" the safety tug exclaimed, startling George awake.
Theodore, Hank, and Emily sailed towards the pair, eager to tell them the story.
"Now can we tell you?" asked Hank.
"We've waited all day," added Theodore and Emily.
Now George had had enough. His friends wanted to tell him a story, but he only wanted to rest.
"No, you may not tell me now!" he snapped, "You can wait until I am good and ready."
The other tugboats sadly floated away. They felt hurt that their friend had yelled at them. After all, they only wanted to tell him a story.
George once more tried to go to sleep, but something else was keeping him awake. He felt guilty for yelling at his friends.
On the other side of the harbor, the other tugboats felt guilty as well.
"We should've let him sleep," said Foduck.
"That's probably why he was so grumpy," reasoned Emily.
"But that's no need for him to yell at us," piped up Hank.
"Yes, that's true, but he had a long few days and he wanted to sleep," responded Foduck.
"We should apologize," said Theodore.
The other tugboats tooted in agreement and they left to go find George and apologize.
To their surprise, George was already on the way to apologize to them, "I'm very sorry that I yelled at you. I just wanted some sleep."
"No, we understand. We shouldn't have bothered you. I hope that you will forgive us." said Emily.
"I didn't mean what I said, you can tell me the story when I wake up," said George cheerfully.
The other tugboats tooted happily and set off to go back to work. They knew that as soon as George woke up, that they would tell him the story of Scally's Treasures.
