Welcome to my new story! Don't worry, I will continue my RvBvRWBY series over the summer. Before we begin, here are some tips for the story.
- Set during Volume 2 for RWBY
- The year is 2558 for the UNSC
- 7 months after Halo 4, and 1 month after Spartan Ops
- AU for both RWBY and Halo
- The events of Halo 5 will be erased (thank god!)
- The Banished will appear, along with the UNSC Spirit of Fire
- Setting will be on Remnant, Earth, the Infinity, the Ark, Installation 07, and maybe Reach

Chapter 1: Lasky's Log
UNSC Infinity, April 1, 2558
POV: Captain Thomas Lasky
"Captain's report. April 1, 2558. Things have been quite hectic around here ever since the Master Chief was found alive on a Forerunner planet called Requiem. I won't go into that for now, but you know, it was a surprise to all of humanity. My top scientist, Dr. Henry Glassman has been looking into something called: 'The Janus Key'. From what we know its a Forerunner map that leads to every known Forerunner installation in the galaxy. They only problem is that we only have half of it, turns out the leader of the Covenant. Jul M'dama has the other half thanks to Dr. Catherine Halsey. According to Dr. Glassman, one of the most important Forerunner worlds in the Janus Key's archives is some planet which we nicknamed: 'Palieka' mostly because of the planet's moon. So now FleetCom, and High Command have ordered the Infinity to travel to this unknown world and examine it. My crew's expedition will begin at 0600 today. We will also be joined by the Arbiter, and the Swords of Sanghelios. Which is mostly good 'cause we could use some help if the do Covenant show up, we my stand a chance. I just hope we get to Palieka soon. If the Covenant get their first, humanity may be in danger once again. This is Captain Lasky signing off."
Halo: Remnant
Lasky ended his journal entry, and left his quarters. Multiple thoughts were flying through his head, from this expedition, to the threat of the Covenant. It had been 7 months since he was given command of the most powerful starship in the UNSC, and yet it felt like years. But now, in all of his years of service he felt nervous. Something big was going to happen, and he felt it. Eventually, Lasky arrived at the bridge.
"Captain on deck!" an officer shouted as Lasky entered, and the crew members saluted to him.
"At ease men." Lasky said, and everyone sat back down at their posts. "Roland, what's the situation?" Lasky asked. Just then, a yellow hologram appeared on the table, it had the appearance of a pilot in an old WW2 outfit.
"FleetCom has given us the green light Captain Lasky." Roland replied, "All stations are secured, and Infinity is prepped for slipspace."
"Good." replied Lasky, "Any news on the Arbiter?"
Roland shook his head, "Negative, he said that he'll meet up with us at the rally point near Palieka."
"Alright." Lasky sighed, "Any other news?"
"Uh yeah," replied Roland, "you have company."
Lasky turned around to find a women walking onto the bridge. She was slightly taller than Lasky, and wore some from of skin suit and pants. Her hair was tied up in the back to prevent it from getting into her face.
"Commander Palmer." Lasky greeted her warmly, "Things get boring in Spartan town?"
"Captain Lasky." Palmer replied, "I know you come up here for your piece and quiet." she then leaned against the holo-table next to him. "I'm not interrupting nap time am I?" she asked
Lasky looked over the notes for their expedition. "...On the contrary, show starts at 0600."
Palmer looked at him funny, "You know its 6:00 already right?"
Lasky looked at his watch, "Alright then, Roland prep the engines."
"Aye aye Captain." Roland disappeared, and his voice came in through the speakers.
"Attention all hands. Prep for slipspace jump."
The Infinity started to fly away from Earth at full speed. Suddenly a large wormhole appeared in front of the ship, sucking it in. The wormhole then disappeared.
"Infinity has enter slipspace Captain Lasky." Roland announced
"Good work Roland." Lasky replied
POV Change: The Master Chief
Earlier...
Somewhere in one of the of the Infinity stood a lone, 7-foot soldier in dark green armor. He stared out into the void of space overlooking Earth, on his back was an assault rifle, while in hos hands was a dog tag made out of some data chip.
This was the Master Chief, the legend of the UNSC, and hero of humanity. For years, Chief has experienced some of the most brutal conflicts in human history. Harvest, the Fall of Reach, Alpha Halo, the Ark, Requiem, the list goes on and on. As he stared into the void of space overlooking Earth, a voice drew him back to reality.
"You alright?" Chief turned around to find a female Spartan clad in white armor. Her voice had a British accent.
"I'm fine Kelly." Chief replied gravely, but Kelly didn't buy it.
"These many missions nonstop isn't fine Chief. I think Fred is about to pass out." she explained
"Fred can rest for a while until we get to...Kelly what was the name of this place we're heading?"
"Captain Lasky called it Palieka."
The Chief, for probably the first time in his life, actually chuckled. But his voice sounded cold, and gruff. "Funny, isn't that latin for-"
"Remnant. I know." Kelly answered him. Roland's voice was then heard on the loudspeakers.
"Attention all hands. Prep for slipspace jump."
The ship then entered slipspace, and the view form the window port changed from the planet Earth to the inter-dimensional highway, known as slipspace.
"Like I said," Chief spoke up getting Kelly's attention, "I'm fine, tell Fred he can rest. I'll be on the bridge." Chief then left the observation deck.
"He's not alright." Kelly said to herself.
POV Change: Fireteam Majestic
"New Phoenix quarantine lifted after 8 months." Thorne said, as he read a datapad to his fellow Spartans, "Isn't that great guys?"
"Indeed it is." replied Hoya, "Sorry for what happened to your family." he puts his hand on Thorne's shoulder as a sign of comfort.
"Thanks guys." he replied, "It says here that a ceremony will be held in 2 months. I think I'll take the day off to attend it."
"I'm pretty sure Captain Lasky will allow you." said Grant
"Yeah. So tell me more about this mission." Thorne asked
DeMarco spoke up, "From what I heard, that thing you found on Requiem. The 'Janus Key', gave us the coordinates to a planet full of Forerunner tech." he explained, "I just hope there's no Prometheans."
"I won't get your hopes up DeMarco." Manson chuckled
"Very funny." DeMarco groaned as he got up from his seat. "I'm going to train in the War Games."
"I think I'll join you." said Manson, "I want to work on my sniper skills." and the two left the room.
Grant, and Hoya then looked a Thorne, who was staring blankly into space. "You alright?" Hoya asked
Hoya's voice pulled Thorne back into reality. "Uh? Yeah I'm good." he replied, "This place we're heading to, I have this feeling that something big is gonna happen."
"Like what?" Grant asked
"I don't know." Thorne answered, he then looked back at his datapad.
POV Change: Captain Lasky
April 3, 2558
After 2 days of traveling through slipspace. The UNSC Infinity arrived at its destination, the planet Palieka. From Lasky's look at it, it was a lush fertile planet with dozens of habitats. But the biggest surprise upon arriving was the shattered moon.
"Infinity clear of slipspace Captain Lasky." Roland announced as the ship left the wormhole.
"Lieutenant Austin," Lasky said through a comm, "the word is given."
"Drop down frigates on my mark." Lt. Austin replied to Infinity's crew.
"Mark!" he shouted. Just then, hangar down opened from the underbelly of the Infinity, and ten Strident-Class frigates emerged from them. They then formed a defensive position around Infinity. A hologram appeared on the table on the Infinity's bridge, it took the from of a large 7-foot tall alien with mandibles.
"Captain Lasky." the creature said, "Welcome to Palieka."
"Arbiter, good to see you." Lasky greeted
"My apologies but my warriors and I had some trouble with Jul M'dama. He attacked one of my ships in an attempt to hijack it." Arbiter explained, "That is why I could not join you so soon."
"Apology accepted." Lasky replied
"I also had to pick up someone to join us on our expedition...you may not like it Captain." Arbiter said with worry. A second hologram appeared on the table, taking the form of a human woman with blonde hair in a ponytail. She wore a black UNSC uniform, the only difference was that instead of the eagle symbol with the initials U-N-S-C. It had a black and white diamond symbol with a circle in the middle with the initials O-N-I on it.
Lasky looked at her with two expressions on his face. 'Great. ONI is joining us.' he said to himself. But another part of himself was relieved at seeing her.
"Captain Dare." Lasky said to her, "I wasn't expecting you to join us."
"Hello Tom." Dare said kindly, "You know how ONI works. As a member of the Office of Naval Intelligence, I apologize for intruding in your mission. Its just my superiors are curious about this place."
"That's alright." Lasky replied, "I'm just glad they sent someone I can trust." At that last part, Dare chuckled slightly, along with the Arbiter.
"Is Buck with you?" Dare asked
"No." replied Lasky, "Buck and Fireteam Osiris are currently on a mission. They will join us eventually."
"Right. Now onto business, while we were waiting for you to arrive here. Arbiter sent scouts down onto the planet's surface." Dare explained
"I see, anything I should know?" Lasky asked
"Yes. You're not gonna believe this Captain but...but there are humans on the planet."
Lasky raised an eyebrow, "You can't be serious Veronica."
Dare shook her head, "No Tom, I'm serious. There are actual human beings living on the planet."
Lasky's eyes widened, shocked at this revelation. "No way. How?"
"We don't know yet." Dare replied, "I've already sent the files over to Dr. Glassman."
"Good. I have team set up to prepare constructing a base of operations." said Lasky, "Now we just need to find a place to make camp. Without discovering the locals."
"If I may Captain Lasky," Arbiter spoke up, "My warriors have already found a suitable place. A forest near one of the planet's major cities. Its remote, and its denseness should keep us out of sight. There are also cave entrances, so we can probably start searching for any Forerunner temples, or even a Cartographer."
Lasky nodded his head, "Alright then, Arbiter send the location of the forest. I'll have ground teams ready for deployment soon. The Master Chief, and Fireteam Majestic will be arriving later."
"The Spartan his here?" Arbiter asked, quite surprised
"Yes he is. He volunteered for this expedition after hearing about Requiem." replied Lasky
"Very well, I send you the coordinates. Arbiter out." Arbiter's hologram then disappeared, leaving only Dare's.
"I will be joining you on the Infinity Captain. I'll send you the files about the planet we've gathered so far." Dare said, and her hologram disappeared as well. Lasky then turned to Roland.
"Roland, prep all ground teams for construction of Concord Base. Then inform Blue Team, and Fireteam Majestic for deployment." Lasky ordered the AI.
"Roger that Captain." Roland then disappeared. Lasky then looked at his datapad, and found the files Dare sent him.
"Alright, lets see what this planet has to offer."
POV Change: Ozpin
Remnant, Beacon Academy, April 2, 2014
One day ago...
A man in a black overcoat, and spectacles looked out the window of his office. As he looked into the sky, he noticed something strange. Three, red-colored aircrafts flying over the Emerald Forest.
"What are those?" the man said out loud to himself. Just then, a women with blonde hair tied into a bun, and wearing clothes similar to that of a witch came in. Next to her was a man dressed in a white, officers uniform.
"Professor Ozpin you need to see this." the women said
Ozpin turned around, "What is it Glynda?"
"Look." Glynda turned on the TV in Ozpin's office.
"This is Lisa Lavender reporting live from the Kingdom of Vale. Where there appears to be some sort of strange ships flying around the Emerald Forest. Early reports claimed that they were Atlas tech in the field. As General Ironwood himself is currently visiting Beacon Academy." Glynda then turned off the TV and Faced Ozpin.
"James, do you know what this is?" Ozpin asked the man in the uniform
"No, I do not. I was planning on sending scouts into the area to see what is going on over there. But fear the media will follow suite." Ironwood replied
"I see." Ozpin thought to himself for a moment, "Let us not worry about this right now. I will oversee this incident myself."
"Very well." Ironwood sighed, "I must prepare for the Vytal Festival." and he left the room.
"Professor," Glynda began, "Should we be worried about these 'UFOs'?"
"Like I said Glynda, let us not worry about this." Ozpin replied. However, the two were completely oblivious to the large fleet or warships that were orbiting the planet.
POV Change: Unknown Location
Remnant, Unknown Location, April 2, 2014
"Hmm interesting..." said a women with pale white skin and hair.
The story has begun! What will the UNSC discover on this new world? And what will Ozpin do with this new discovery?
The year on Remnant is different because that's the year the inhabitants follow.
