Disclaimer: Nope, neither Kai nor Tyson belong to me. I'm just borrowing them for a short while.
AN- Again, more TyKai. This was originally meant to be for thefirstline writing community on LJ but I completely forgot about it. I promise, one day, I will write a TyKai story with plot. In the meantime, enjoy the fluff…
Resolve
The inside was dark. Real dark, like looking down a well in the middle of the day and not being able to see the bottom, but it's definitely there and you know it's there, even though you can't see it. Kai managed to raise his eyes away from the darkness, and looked up at the sign above him. He had to read it over several times before the words even started to sink in but even then, they refused to make sense in his head.
Tyson tugged on Kai's arm impatiently, trying to get him to go inside, into the darkness. Kai stood firm though, refusing to move and slowly, very slowly, he turned to look down at Tyson, trying to decide whether to tell the other that he was completely insane and that there was no way he was going to go inside. Nothing in the world could make him go inside, although his mouth wasn't co-operating so he couldn't actually tell Tyson that.
"What?" Tyson asked, now frowning up at Kai but still holding onto his arm. "What is it?"
Kai very slowly raised a hand and pointed at the sign. His lips moved as he tried to form the words, but all he could manage was:
"Th—Wha—a…"
Finally, he just shook his head and ground out, "No!"
"Huh?" Tyson looked from Kai, to the store in front of them and back to Kai again. "It's just a shop, Kai," he said, again attempting to pull Kai inside.
"No," Kai repeated, a little louder this time.
"But, Kai!" Tyson dug his heels as deep as he could into the ground.
Kai's arm felt like it was being wrenched from its socket but he still refused to move. Gritting his teeth, Kai tore his eyes away from the sign and glared down at Tyson.
"I am not going in there." Kai declared, spun around and started to walk off, dragging Tyson with him. Tyson eventually let go of Kai and watched the other storm off.
"Kai!" he yelled, folding his arms over his chest.
Kai turned automatically. He knew that tone; Tyson was upset and ready to blackmail, if necessary. Tyson had that look on his face, that 'I will do it if you make me' look that made most people agree to whatever Tyson wanted within minutes because the alternative was almost always worse. With a sigh, Kai headed back towards Tyson and stopped a few feet away, just out of reach. He had made that particular mistake before and Tyson had dragged him into a closet where they spent the better part of three hours making the others wander if the house was haunted by ghosts.
"What?" Kai asked when Tyson didn't say anything.
Tyson leaned forward and whispered something. Kai had to strain to hear, but it sounded an awful lot like:
"If you don't do this with me, you will not be getting any sex for a week."
Kai immediately stiffened. Tyson has never used the sex card before, not even while they had been discussing the terms of their relationship. Not that there had even been a need to, the two had mutually agreed to just see where they were going first before telling the others.
They stared at each other for a moment, Tyson mimicking Kai's 'I am pissed off so don't mess with me' pose, complete with one raised eyebrow and Kai could feel his resolve weakening with each passing second. Finally, he gave up, and dropped his arms to his sides with a disgruntled "Fine" of acquiescence.
Tyson's face split into a grin and he grabbed Kai's arms and Kai let himself be led back to the store.
"One thing though," Kai said, ten feet from the doors. "Why exactly do you need new boots?"
"You're kidding, right?" Tyson replied. The look on Kai's face said he wasn't and Tyson rolled his eyes as they stepped through the doors of the shoe store. "Have you seen the state of these?"
