Chapter 1

The First Step

"I'm never coming back". Were the words that came out of my mouth as I drove my Mercedes down the road. I'd had been thinking about running away for many months now, but I had finally done it.

Finally, I felt free. I was the bird leaving the nest, but without permission.

It was the Friday before last that I had, had the bog blow out with my mother. I was never allowed to do anything, all of my friends got to do anything that they liked. I didn't want to seem like a brood, but all of my friends were spoilt little rich bitches, who would throw a tantrum if they didn't get what they wanted, they all had expensive tutors but still failed their subjects and each had about five boyfriends. I was an A grade student who didn't have an expensive tutor let alone a boyfriend, and even if I had of wanted one I wouldn't have been allowed. And I knew perfectly well that it wasn't because we couldn't afford it. I was well aware that my family was right in with the money.

Anyway back to the story, it was two Fridays ago when I decided I'd had enough, I packed everything I would need; clothes, money, packaged food, fruit, blankets, a pillow, her credit cards. I had water, matches, more clothes and some more essentials. I was headed out the door when my mobile started to ring. "Hello…. Hope is that you. No, its Santa answering Hopes phone, how may I help you. Hope, he…..he….Chris dumped me. What, why. He found out I was cheating on him. Oh hon, stop crying ill be over in a sec". And I hung up and started her way over to Maggie's.

So that put my plans off for a while.

After Maggie had gotten over Chris……and Michael, I started to think about running away again but then I got invited to Daniels party (Maggie's twin brother and if I might ad Hope's crush for the last how ever many years). Aunt Letisha came home and wanted a night out with mum, which left me stuck with my cousin Natalie, and she wanted to go to the party so bad that mum let us go.

When I got to the party I was so BORED. Natalie raved on about how she had won the Equestrianism four years running and how she had just successfully bred another thoroughbred and how she…..blah, blah, blah. I tried to pull Maggie away from the catastrophe but she wouldn't budge. "I didn't know that Natalie was such a good horse rider and that she ……" at that I walked away.

I was walking down up to the fridge when I ran into Daniel. "Hope, I, ahh, Hi. Hi Daniel, why aren't you down there listening to how great my cousin is?. Well no offence but she is kind of a show off and quite annoying. Tell me about It" I replied. He smiled "want a beer??". I knew I wasn't allowed alcohol, but hey I'm 17 & I'd only have one, "sure, thanks".

Well one turned into five and before long Hope Summers (best behaved girl in the world) and Daniel McAdems (naughtiest guy in the world) were making out. I couldn't believe it. I'd wanted this for so long. He tasted of rum and beer and I knew he'd had quite a bit more to drink than I had. I enjoyed the feeling but before anything else happened he pulled way. I looked at him to see why he had stopped kissing me and found a very scared looking expression on his face. And I saw why!

"Mum?. Hope how dare you, you are far to young for any of this, I can't believe it. Mum I'm 17"

Right then I saw her red tomato looking face go a shade I've never seen it go before. "You've been Drinking, Oh my god I cant believe this, I let you go out and this is how you repay me, making out with some low life scum and getting yourself pissed when your under aged, get in the car…Now!!".
