Dear Lupus,
The day has come! We've made it to Spearow Point! It's bigger than Thamus, but not nearly as large as Tempa. It's different than a normal city, though. Firstly, it's circular instead of blocked! The entire northern half of the city is residential, except for a slice right through the middle of it, which is a pretty big marketplace! The southern half is a typical downtown, but there's a huge park in the very center of the city. Best of all, though, it's safe from the war! Our army has pushed the enemy all the way back to the northeastern coast! Sorry to bother you with the details. Mother wishes you luck at University! She also wanted you to know that she has signed a deal with a nearby guild, so we now have plenty of jobs and a steady income. She'll be sending you leftover funds to help pay your tuition, too. Please do write back soon: we'll be waiting!
Best wishes,
Leo

I stood in glee before our new house, shifting under the weight of my luggage. The house's exterior was made entirely of polished log, and the porch was beautifully crafted out of oak wood. I fumbled up the steps and through the door. I couldn't help but grin: the kitchen alone was bigger than many of our previous homes!
The first thing I noticed was the bar, which held a clear view of the vacant living room. The left wall, which was adjacent to the bar, was a simple counter with cabinets above and below. To the immediate right of the bar was the exitway into the living room, and an open space. I led myself to the living room. The only features of the room were windows on either side of the back wall and a hallway on the right. And all was supported by a smooth stone floor.
I rushed through the room to see the hallway. There were four doors: three on the left wall and one on the end. I threw open the first door. It was a large bedroom. I was almost certain that this was mother's room. She needed the extra space as an office for our team operations. I moved on to the second room. A grin cracked across my face when I saw that the second room was even bigger than the first. That meant that my room would be the first one—it was smaller, but still my largest yet!
I returned to the previous room and waltzed in. There, I let everything I was carrying melt off of me. I felt three times lighter—quite literally, having shed one hundred twenty pounds of luggage! I felt like a flabébé on the wind when I moved around unburdened. It felt as if my legs carried no weight at all!
I discontinued my prancing around the room and began to unpack a few things. These things included my straw bed, some books, and everything that I used for training at home. Shortly after I had decided where to put my bed, my mother's head appeared in my doorway.
"Well... I see you've gotten quite settled in!" She called.
"Yeah! I didn't expect this place to be so big for just the two of us," I responded.
"Well, rescue teams are paid well! Not many pokémon are capable of that. We started out broke, but look how far a little grit and competence got us! Just as I promised!"
She had always promised me that as long as we kept headstrong and worked to succeed, we would. And there we were! She had kept her word! I smiled up at her.
"But who's to say that we should stop here?" she continued. "We've still got bills to pay! It's about time you got back to training, don't you think?"
I pulled out my old map of Tempus, and felt a rush of excitement as I eyed each of the numerous mystery dungeons that I had marked in the area.
"Yeah!" She smirked.
"Good. Now come help me move everything in!"
So? How was it? This is the prologue of the very first story I'd ever written, back in September of 2016. I'll keep on posting, so stay tuned!
