"SINGER AUTO SALVAGE" was placed in bold letters over the entrance. The man replacing the headlights of a crimson Pontiac Firebird was humming, every movement speaking of long experience and loving care. His close-cropped hair was graying, his body still lean and flexible. He rose as his cellphone vibrated on the hood at the theme song of Fringe. Only a sharp eye would've noticed the limp.
"Special Agent Cooper, FBI."

"Affirmative. Garth Adamson is working for us."

"That's – uh – part of his tactic. I trust that he'll get your unrestricted support."
He hung up.
His smile was kind of wistful.
