This is my very first attempt at Merlin Fanfic, as well as my first attempt at a one-shot and my first attempt at writing a drabble. 98 words, folks! The story anyway, not including A/N. Now, normally, I'm a Merthur fan all the way, but I thought that the ending for this was just... wrong. So, leave a review, let me know how I did, and if you want some kinda follow-up/companion/sequel, whatever. Written in less than five minutes, and unbeta-ed, so there may be mistakes.
Inspired slightly by listening to 'Anywhere', by Evanescence... the lyrics are so perfect for this episode.
"I'm so sorry, Freya," Merlin sobs, standing ankle-deep in the water and embracing her. "I shouldn't have, I should have found a way to..." A finger on his lips silences him.
"Merlin, I would rather be bound to the lake than dead," she whispers. "This way, I can see you again."
"I know... but you can never leave! The instant you leave the lake, your wound will open, you'll die, and it's my fault! I've cursed you more than that other sorcerer ever could."
"No," she murmurs, kissing him, once, twice, a third time.
"You saved me, Merlin."
So? How was it? Let me know. And now, I'm off to do homework. Toodleoo.
