It was late afternoon and Daken was in his room at Avengers Tower. He was relaxing on his bed; the TV was on and muted, J-Rock playing on his laptop over on a desk, as he flipped through a magazine. He had just got done taking a nice long hot shower. He had on cargo pants and a t-shirt. As he glanced through his magazine a knock came to his door.

"Come in!" he yelled, not putting it down to see who it was.

"So, I heard you're a free man now." A female voice said. It was Moonstone, a.k.a. the new Ms. Marvel. She had on a pair of shorts with a white cami like tank top. Daken slowly put the magazine down and saw her.

"Yeah, I'm a free man." He said to her. He had just got done doing his time on a heilicarrier, for almost killing his girlfriend, though at the present, his girl wasn't talking to him. She didn't want anything to do with him. Moonstone walked towards his bed and sat at the end, on the edge.

"You want to get out of here? Go do something?" she asked him.

"What you got in mind?" he asked her as he moved himself closer to her, now lying on his stomach near her, looking at her.

"I don't know. Maybe go get a bite to eat somewhere. I'm sure you're dying for some real food." She told him.

"Yeah, I could go for a bite to eat." He said with a smile. Though at that point, he wanted more than just eating.

"Good. Let's get going. I heard about this café, heard they got some good food." She told him as they both got up.

They both sat outside at a table at the café, eating and talking.

"If I knew where you were at, I would have visited." She told him as she picked up her glass of tea.

"It's ok." He told her before taking a bite out of his sandwich.

"I still can't believe he did that to you. He's such an asshole!"

"Trust me, I would have killed him myself, but I had things at stake." He informed her.

"And your girlfriend, or should I say ex. She just dumped you because you made a freaking mistake." She said with a little disgust in her voice.

"I try not to think about it." He told her.

"I understand."

Later in the day, they were at central park, sitting on a park bench, watching people there.

"Look at that one," Daken said to her, pointing to a fat woman who was yelling at a child that clearly wasn't hers. "I bet if that kid wanted to fight back, all he'd have to do is push the bitch over. She'd be like a fucking turtle; she wouldn't be able to get up." Moonstone laughed at that. They then both began laughing as the woman began chasing the kid. "Scratch that; she'll have a heart attack!"

"What about him, mister business man." She said, motioning to a guy in a suit, just standing there in the distant, talking on his cell phone.

"Hmmm…." Daken began to study the guy. "I bet he's talking to his lover on the side. Looks a little, queer and probably is married to a woman."

"How can you tell?"

"The way he's acting. The body language. I pick up on these things." He said to her. She looked at him.

"You amaze me, you know that." She told him. He looked at her with a sly smile.

"I amaze a lot of people." He told her just as he put a hand on her leg. She felt his touch and didn't pull away, as their lips locked in a deep kiss. They stayed on the bench for another hour, talking and making fun of people, her hand in his hand on his leg, holding. Later they would stop off for some ice cream, finishing their day together before heading back to the tower. They would go their separate ways, but they would both be thinking about each other.
