I don't own the Gilmore Girls or 'Falling Slowly' which is on of my all time favourite songs. If you've never heard it go listen to it now! Glen Hansard is a genius!

Falling Slowly

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that

She had the bluest eyes he'd ever seen. And a collection of books he'd be proud of.

But she wouldn't sneak out. She wanted to stay, with them, his uncle, her mom and the crazy lemon kids.

Does she look trustworthy? Sure, he thinks. Like butter wouldn't melt.

He has a feeling he wouldn't give her a second glance in New York.

But here? In Star's Freaking Hollow? She might be the only decent distraction he's got.

Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react

'What makes you think I like you?'

He knows any idiot (read Kirk) can tell that he likes her, but he enjoys watching her stutter and blush and he knows that he can't smile.

Because then she'd know.

And she can't. Not yet. Not while she's still dating My Gaint.

He has to bite back his smirk. He has to.

And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Shane. She's just girl. Nothing special. He met her the week before she returned from Washington, and when he saw the reaction she got, he decided to keep her around.

He'd provoke her. Into leaving Dean, or staying with him forever.

He wasn't to sure what way it would play ouy, but he couldn't help think it would work in his favour.

'Guy's a total jerk.' And he means it. It was never supposed to end like that. She was supposed to leave him.

But at least he's out of the picture.

Falling slowly, eyes that know me

And I can't go back

'But right now, I have to go. Understand?'

He doesn't. Not even a little bit.

But she flashes those big blue eyes at him, and he doesn't care.

She's his. He's never felt that possessive over a girl before.

But then again, he's never known anyone like her before.

And when she smiles back at him, he knows he's a goner.

Moods that take me and erase me

And I'm painted black

Fuck. He's in the dark. Literally. And Metaphorically. He would have laughed if he wasn't so pissed off.

He can't have missed that much school.

He can't have let her down.

Then she appeared. And he tried to forget.

But he fucked that up too.

He can't dissapoint her if he's not around.

You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Two years. He left and then came back.

But she'd said no. No no no no no.

And he knew he couldn't expect anymore from her.

He had just wanted to show her he wasn't screw up anymore.

That she was right.

But sitting there in front of him, praising his book, he knows wants more.

So he kisses her.

She pulls back and stands up.

He thinks he's fucked it up again, but she smiles and reaches for his hand.

She kisses him again and then leads him upstairs to his apartment.

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now

And as he pushed her long, matted bangs off her forehead he knew.

Jess knew that Rory Gilmore was it.

Everything.
