Jerry is looking around school for Jack. Jack, Milton, and Kim turn the corner and Jerry runs up to them. "Dude! There's a hot new chick in school and she's looking for you! I think she might be the hottest girl in school!"
"What's this about the hottest girl in school?" Eddie walks up behind Kim and joins the circle.
"Wait, really? The new girl is looking for me? What's her name?" Jack nudges Jerry on the shoulder
"I have no idea! Wait, dude here she comes!"
They all step back along with the rest of the kids in the hallway, when a tan, brunette girl in a blue summer dress and high heeled sandals walks in. She looks around the hallway, not reacting to the silence. Jack pushes through Jerry and Eddie, who's mouths are practically on the floor. Jack gasps, but not in the way all the others are. He walks half way to the girl, points a shaky finger, and breathes, "Dani? Is that you?"
The girl looks up, opens her eyes, and practically knocks Jack over in a big hug. "Oh my god Jack! I haven't seen you in like, forever? How are you? Are you still doing karate? Who are your friends? And why is this one drooling like a dog?" She looks pointedly at Jerry.
"I can't believe it! You're here, Dani! Where'd you go? You're so tan! You still dance and sing? Do you remember that time with the tree house?" They both blurt out questions.
"Oh my god yes! That was hilarious! And then the flaming branch-
"Fell on Mr. Garvin's head!" Jack and the girl say at the same time, loudly. Suddenly, as if noticing they were the only ones talking, the girl spins around. "You guys can go back to whatever you were doing before, you know!" She says. Everyone then starts moving.
Kim taps Jack and the girl on their shoulders saying, "um, excuse me, but who are you again?"
Jack turns around as if coming out of a daze, and says, "oh guys, this is Dani, or Daniela Lily Bella Forester. She was-is my best friend ever since we were four. We grew up together, until she moved. But now she's back!"
Dani and Jack both turn to each other and start smiling like crazy but Kim interrupts again, "Daniela Lilly Bella Forester?"
"I know," Dani responds, laughing. "They meant to say LilyBell, but there was a typo. LilyBell was my grandmother's name translated literally. My mom called me her Lilly Bear, my dad called me Bella, my grandpa called me LilyBell, Jack here called me Dani, my brother called me Dan, and my sister called me Lil. Almost everyone at my old school called me Dani, or Daniela. Do you have any idea how hard it is to have an infinite amount of possible nicknames, and a very creative family?"
"No," Kim, Eddie, Jerry, and Milton say truthfully.
"It actually wasn't that hard… Anyway, who are you guys?"
Jerry steps in front of everyone and says, "I'm Jerry. Renown dancer, actor, and Karate extraordinaire. I beat my buddy Jack a couple of times and earned my black belt a week after joining our dojo. Pleasure to meet you." Dani slowly takes his hand and shakes it. Milton says, "please, Jerry probably doesn't even know what 'renown' and 'extraordinaire' even mean. I'm Milton." "Hello Milton," Dani shakes his hand. Eddie pushes Milton out of the way and says, "hello. I'm Eddie, but you can call me… Eddie." Dani laughs and responds, "hello Eddie. And one left. The pretty blonde behind Jack has yet to introduce herself."
"You think I'm pretty?" Kim asks in a high voice while playing with her hair. "Totally!" Dani responds. "Well, I'm Kim. Nice to meet you!" The bell rings and Eddie, Milton, and Jerry head to class. Kim and Jack walk Dani to the main office to get her classes sorted out.
