Leonardo stood on the rooftop. The wind howled around him making his mask sway in the wind. Leo watched five children ride their bikes in the middle of the night. They laughed and pretended to be racers riding down the track, making every attempt to win. "Kinda reminds me of my brothers",Leo thought with a grin. His grin faded when he saw a little girl sitting on the steps of an apartment. Her eyes were two different colors, one green and one blue. She held a doll. The doll had stringy chestnut hair and a purple frock. Leo watched the children ignore her attempts to speak to them. The girl looked like there was something wrong. What was wrong with her? Leo crouched down and saw a boy get off his bike and walk toward the girl. And Leo couldn't believe what happened next. The boy punched the girl.
Leo gasped at the sight. He heard laughter and a small cry. Leo stood up to watch. "Hey Sally over here!",the boy taunted. Sally looked around, rubbing her arm. The boy struck again but this time he pushed her off the steps. "She's blind…",Leo thought,"They're teasing a blind girl!". Leo balled up his fists. He continued to watch. The kids laughed like vicious demons from hell. Sally's eyes filled with fright, those two mismatched eyes watered with tears. That's it,Leo had enough. Leo jumped off the rooftop into the alley and ran across the street in front of Sally.
Leo growled at the kids. The kids screamed and rode away, the boy who had hurt Sally jumped onto his bike and rode behind his friends. The boy was screaming his head off. "ALIEN! ALIEN!",the boy screamed. Leo turned around to Sally. The blind girl had stood up and was staring at Leo. "Thank you...sir",Sally hesitated. Her voice was tiny and gentle. "I..",before Leo continued,Sally touched Leo's hand. Sally looked up at Leo and Leo could tell she knew what he was. But if the girl was scared, she showed no sign to Leo. Leo smiled at the little girl. Sally hugged Leo,he hesitated but he returned the hug. It was warm….and it was nice. Sally let go and backed up. She touched Leo's hand again. Sally kept her hand in Leo's and bent down. Her hand touched the doll and she grabbed it. Sally stood up straight and put the doll in Leo's hand. "Keep this,it's for you",Sally smiled at him. Leo looked down at it,he wrapped his fingers around it. "Thank you",Leo whispered to her. Sally smiled again and walked away. She skipped up her stairs with her hand on the rail. She opened the door, she turned around. Sally waved at Leo and walked in. Leo stared at the doll,he brushed the doll's hair aside and stared into the doll's one green and blue eyes.
Leo walked into the lair, the doll was held in his hand. He saw his brothers sitting in front of the tv. Classic ol' Space Heros. Leo's navy blue eyes gleamed with amusement as Raph complained only to be hushed by Donnie and Mikey. He walked past them behind the couch. Leo walked into his dark room. He flipped on the light and shut the door behind him. He walked over to his shelf and carefully placed the doll on it. Leo smiled at it. "I won't forget you,Sally",Leo told the doll. Leo walked to the switch and turned off the lights. He looked back at the doll one last time, his heart felt light. Leo walked out of the room and shut the door. The doll fell into shadows,it's eyes twinkled.
