Usual disclaimers apply; I don't own anything.

Apologies for any inconsistencies or mistakes.

For those wondering why characters from two series separated by a century and the Atlantic Ocean are somehow calmly sitting with each other at the same time, I say: just go with it.

"We totally need to start a band."

At that, Jace, Will, Jem, and Magnus stared at Simon incredulously.

Jace spoke, "A band. You want us to start a band." It wasn't so much a question as a warning that further conversation on the topic would not be met well.

Simon continued enthusiastically, oblivious to the threatening tone of Jace's voice. "Yeah! I mean, we're all fairly musical-"

"Except me," interrupted Magnus dryly.

"You can do stage effects and stuff. Launch glitter bombs or something."

"Glitter bombs?" Magnus raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah," Simon illustrated the act with a weird flailing motion. He continued, "And, I can play bass guitar, as I did for my other band. Jace, you can play piano; Jem can play violin; Will can-"

"I can recite poetry or sing!" interjected Will, rather excitedly.

Jem cut in wryly. "I doubt the poetry recitations are a good idea. Last time you got up on a stage to give a poem, someone tried to strangle you."

The Welsh Shadowhunter shrugged. "All right then, singing it is. 'Demon pox, oh, demon pox-'" He started to sing.

His parabatai winced, and clapped a hand over the singer's mouth, muttering, "Just be quiet. Please.

"All right then," said Simon, who was very pleased that his idea was working out so well. "Now we need a band name. Any suggestions?"

"Jace and 4 Others," offered the golden-haired Shadowhunter.

"No. Any other ideas?"

"The Rolling Steles."

"The Demon Haters."

"Seraphs N' Runes."

"Chairman Meow's Un-Feline Friends."

"Parabatai4Ever."

"The For$aken."

"Idris."

"Herondale's & Others."

"Boys in Black."

Jace suddenly interrupted the slew of horrible band names. "This was a stupid idea to begin with."

Everyone else promptly agreed, and conversation lapsed back into silence.

Simon sighed. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
