The Journey of Secrets
Chapter 1
Frank Hardy,18 and Joe Hardy,17 sat on the couch. It had been a hectic week. School was a mess, they looked forward for the holidays and it arrived fleetingly. Three weeks was a great deal for both the brothers. Their cousins, Troy,18, Courtney,16 and Mandy Moore,13 are coming to spend the holidays at their place, this Tuesday. School holidays started that very Saturday. They had a lot of plans, and one of them were camping. Frank and Joe were very sure the three cousins would agree. Mr Fenton Hardy, Frank and Joe father agreed to let them camp at Mount Stone but with terms and conditions.
Tuesday morning, the sun shone brightly, the wind blew strongly and the leaves on the trees waved wildly. That very moment, 9.00am, they heard shouts and saw Troy and Courtney waving frantically towards them.
"They're here!!" Joe Hardy yelled. Mr and Mrs Hardy hurried to the front gate.
"Troy! Courtney!" Joe cried happily."
"But, where's Mandy?" Frank asked, curious.
"She's sound asleep. A minute, I'll wake her." Courtney replied.
"Mandy… Mandy… We're here." Courtney whispered softly in her ear.
Mandy slowly opened her eyes and whispered to herself. "We're here?"
Troy, who heared her said, "Yes Mandy!! We're here…" They all went in the house and settled for a light breakfast as they had eaten earlier. After the five cousins finished, they headed to Frank's room. Frank told three of them their plans to go camping. Before he even finished, they were cheering and making plans for the day already.
"When are we going?" Mandy asked.
"Wednesday, dad said he would ask Mr Fillmore to accompany us though" Frank replied.
"Oh! not Mr Fillmore! He's boring and strict" Mandy cried.
"Well, its better then not going" Courtney said, trying to cheer them up.
"That's the spirit!" Joe said happily.
That night, all of them slept soundly. They could not wait for tomorrow to come.
They have not realize something was awaiting in the jungle…..
