'Part One'

"Die."

The floor shook as the Konohakagure Shinobi fell to the ground, a needle in each of their heads. The final one, a small slave child, just lay there, cowering. Zabuza picked the young one up, looking into its empty eyes. He had considered killing the poor thing, but, in what could possibly have been empathy, he gently placed the toddler in his rucksack.

"Put her back! Put her back now!" cried a matron who had ran into the Konohakagure Academy.

"And leave her to rot in this dingy old wreck? I'd rather not, thank you," he hastily replied, making sure to look directly into the Matron's wizened eyes. Just then, something dawned on him. He had killed the Matron on entrance to the building, hadn't he? His bloodshot eyes glared at her drooping face, and he shouted

"Lord Hokage. I should have known that it was you!" Zabuza's weak response showed nothing but fear. Not so much fear of the old yet powerful 4th Lord, but more fear for his newfound companion. Like it was his duty to protect 'her'. Something was amiss, however, with this 'girl' he had just 'rescued'. He didn't know what on earth it was, but he sensed something was off.

"Leave now, Traitor, or I will unleash the Nine-Tailed Fox upon your mortal soul!" threatened the Hokage, making sure not to unleash any powers yet. He knew he couldn't win on his own.

"The boy? He cannot possibly be any older than two years old! Your empty threats amuse me, old man!" Zabuza showed that his fear from seconds ago had been replaced with confidence, after the Hokage's useless attempt at fear-mongering.

The Hokage started muttering under his breath. His fingers moved in an unfamiliar yet recognisable pattern. Zabuza knew that the old man was attempting a powerful move. But Zabuza knew exactly what to do. So he stood there, with his eyes closed, expecting a massive attack. Suddenly, the old man flew at him, but Zabuza knew exactly what to do, and at that moment honed his Chakra to turn his body into a mist cloud, causing the Hokage to dash straight through him and into the wall. This gave Zabuza mere seconds to escape, but he knew exactly what to do. As he hopped from window to window, wall to wall he kept his eyes tight shut to concentrate his Chakra. He tried to push the mystery of the girl out of his head to further improve his concentration, but it was nigh impossible.

The Hokage glanced at Zabuza, seeing him leap through the air with relative ease." You will be killed, Zabuza of the Mists Momochi. Trust me, you shall burn!

Distraught, the Hokage returned to the Academy, which had lost nearly all of its Jonin and was left in ruins, and he would not accept any condolences, not even from his star student, Kakashi of the Sharingan Eye, who had prepared ramen. The ramen, however, was dissmissed by the normally kind Hokage, and Kakashi was told to 'get back to his duties'.
