Kodi P.O.V.
I was sleeping and I was pretty comfortable in the position I was sleeping in. Something I didn't feel was Humphrey not being snuggled up to me, but then he nudged my face a little bit and he spoke.
"Kodi, wake up, you can't sleep in today"
"Why?"
"Because today is a special big brother's birthday!" I decided to play along a little bit.
"Who would that be? Dodge?"
"No"
"James?"
"No"
"Spike?"
"No silly" he chuckled slightly. I chuckled back and spoke.
"Okay, I give up, who's birthday is it?"
"It's yours Kodi! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! YOU'RE 17 YEARS OLD NOW!" Humphrey cheered out throwing leaves in the air like confetti.
"It's not that big a deal Humphrey"
"But Kodi, it's your birthday!"
"So?"
"My parents once said that if there's something to celebrate, it should be celebrated now. Kodi your birthday is today, and it should be celebrated right now!" he said as he urged me to get up.
"Okay Humphrey you win, I'm up"
"Good, cause I wanna take you to the Junk joint today, there's something I wanna show you"
"What would that be?"
"A special little birthday surprise for you" he then signaled me to follow him to the club and when we we're half-way there he wrapped an old raggedy piece of cloth around my eyes.
"Humphrey why is this thing wrapped around my eyes?"
"Just don't want you to see your surprise too early" I felt Humphrey talking my paw and then he stopped and let go.
"Okay, take the rag off" I then used my right paw to take it off and looked around to see Spike, Dodge, James, and well, pretty much everyone that hangs at the joint in a huge crowd.
"SURPRISE! HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY KODI!" they all screamed in unison. I saw that there were balloons, Caribou meat, and there was even a cake. Wait, how did they get the cake?
"Dude, where did you get that cake?" Spike then replied.
"A human that was in front of a building saw us and he handed us the cake. It happens every Thursday" I then looked over to Humphrey and asked him something.
"Humphrey, can I speak with you outside?"
"Sure" I then took Humphrey outside to the back of the joint and started talking to him.
"Humphrey, you did all of this for me?" I felt touched.
"Yeah, it's your birthday Kodi, I wanted the first of your birthdays to be special, that's why I got Dodge, Spike, James and everyone else we know to do this for you" we then had tears flowing freely from our eyes. I then pulled him a huge hug.
"Thank you Humphrey, for making today very special for me"
"I love you big brother"
"I love you too little brother" we then finished our little emotional moment, wiped the tears from our eyes, and we went back to the joint and we saw all the wolves gathered at an old coffee table and the vanilla cake was in the center of the table, and there was one candle on it that was lit up. All the wolves, including Humphrey started singing.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR KODI! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" I then looked at the candle and blew it out, the wolves all cheered, and we continued to have fun at what could have been considered the wildest birthday party of my life.
