Sweet Sleep
This is the middle part of Resident evil 4 chapter 2 of Separate Ways where Ada saves Leon from Chief Mendez...
Ada ran swiftly past the villagers, dodging their harsh strikes with their simple farming tools, crafted to become a deadly weapon. She was tired of running. Not just from running from people that want her dead, or running from the truth, just running in general! The cold air outside made her throat sore when she breathed in. So tired. All she aspired to do now was sleep. Not wanting to see another villager. Unfortunately she was ambushed at the centre of the village. No way out. She carefully picked up her shotgun and shot carefully to make sure she got as much as she could out of each shot. After each blood splattering shot she finally got through all of them. "Thank god, I'm tired as hell." Then that's when she saw a man in Leon's jacket. Fooled for a moment of the illusion that this man was Leon, that's all the villager needed, he thrust his hand's around Ada's neck. She stared into his beady unforgiving eyes. Each breath was a struggle as she felt her lungs striving for air. His grip became stronger, but his sweaty palms slipped his grip giving Ada the opportunity to quickly spring of him. She had one shot, their was no room for failure. She brutally but gracefully at the same time kicked him in the face, snapping his neck in the process. She caught her breath for a moment, her legs were weak, her back was cold, hands sore and sweaty from constantly having grip on the gun. Eye lids heavy, heat beat slowing, sweet sleep…."No. I have to do what I was sent here to do."
She pushed through the steel gate, not knowing what to expect. Luckily it was clear, but off in the distance she saw three men. Mendez, the chief and his henchman were walking towards his house. She quickly, but quietly, followed behind. The door slammed behind them. She turned the knob. "Damn locked, have to find an alternate route." She looked around quickly when the rain gutters of the house caught her eye. She took out her hook shot and shot it directly into the brim of the gutter. It took her up quickly, but she regained her composure and landed gracefully on the roof. That's when she heard a large "THUD!" It was Leon, what was Mendez doing? Then she heard another ruckus in the room adjacent to the hallway. She lowered her self off the roof so she could peer in the window. Leon was in trouble, she had to help. She took the pistol out of it's holster and raised the laser sighting to Mendez's back. "BANG, BANG!" The shots went clearly into Mendez's back but had little to no effect on him. Then he began to charge at her so she pulled the trigger of the hook shot so that she was carried up just in time. As he jumped out the window, she landed on the roof.
She jumped down off the roof quickly and ran back to the steel gates. No good, ambush. "Damn it." She said to herself, "I'm too tired for this." She slowly raised her gun, ready to fire, when a she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder blade. It was a tranquilizer, it released it's load of drugs into her bloodstream, quickly she felt herself fading. Before she hit the ground she was already gone, into sweet sleep.
