Chapter 1:

The fresh winter air swept inside the open window at the Ootori household. The sleeping form of Ootri Choutaro was covered with thick blankets. The door opened as his mother entered the room.

"Choutaro-chan." His mother said as she tried to wake up the young man.

"You told me you had morning practice today and you need to wake up early," she said as she shook Ootori Choutaro.

Ootori opened his eyes and covered them with his palm, blinded for a moment by the sun light that came from the opened window. He stood up and thanked his mother for waking him up in time to prepare for tennis practice.

He stood up from his bed as his mother left the room. He fixed his bed and took a shower. After that, he dried himself off, as he thought of the tennis practice. He wondered who he will be playing a match today.

He then wore his uniform, and dried his hair using the blower.

He hurriedly went downstairs glancing at his wrist watch and decided to just take a slice of bread and leave. He thought that he would be late if he ate breakfast and thought that their captain, Atobe, and their coach, Sasaki-sensei, and of course, Shishido-san, would definitely scold him.

"Ittekimasu Okaa-san!" Ootori said as he wore his shoes and coat.

"Itterashai, Chou-chan!" His mother said as he carried his tennis bag.

"Hai." He smiled as he opened the door, he felt the cold winter breeze caress his cheeks and he looked up at the sky to see if snow will fall, however, there was no sign of snow on the skies.

He ran as he remembered the time and smiled to himself. It was really refreshing to jog in the early morning.

He stopped at the pedestrian lane and saw that the stop light was red, signalling the people that it was safe to cross the street. Ootori walked along with the others, however, just as he was in the middle of the lane, a van raced through and bumped Ootori. The impact was very hard and he went flying through the air. The van didn't even stopas it hit Ootori but only left, it's speed faster than before.

Some passerbys ignored the situation, but others, were kind enough to help the young man and call an ambulance.

To be Continued...
