Disclaimer: I do not own Invader Zim (sniff).
A/N: Here's another fanfic for you're reading pleasure. I'm probably gonna put up about four fanfics today, I have that much free time on my hands! Anyways, enjoy!
The Hauntings
The clock struck twelve.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
Okay, the clocks annoying, so let's leave it and move on...
"This is it Zim! Your final hour..." Dib growled. His eyes narrowed as he locked them with Zim's. All the times that Dib had to messed up didn't matter now. All that mattered was that he wanted Zim's blood on the floor in front of him. Soon.
"Dib." Zim simply said. He knew he would perish in this fight. It was over. For good. He lay on the floor trying to ignore the bloody pain and just savor his last waking moments before...before, well, he died. Oh Irken Gods, what had he done to deserve this? Killed not in a mighty war, but by a puny Earth wormbaby.
"Good bye, Zim."
Dib thrust the knife through Zim's stomach, through his sqeedily spooch, through his enemy. Zim then did something he would never do again.
He laughed. The smile faded as he felt the knife puncture his purple heart.
Dib sat and looked at what he had done. Yes, the Earth was saved. After so many years...he had finally done it. And in the simplest way he could think of. Last time he had tried to kill Zim, it was by...oh, what was it by? A bomb in his toilet...that one backfired miserably.
Dib couldn't touch the body. It was to bloody. But, then again, he just killed someone...how could anything be more gross than that? Dib hesitated with his hand above Zim's face. Everything was cold...so cold, all of a sudden.
Dib shivered, and wondered if Gaz had left a window open or something...but Gaz wasn't home. Neither was Dad. The cold swept through his toes all the way to his spiky hair. Where in hell was it coming from?
Dib heaved the body over his shoulder and carried it outside. He picked up a shovel, just right to dig with. It took him an hour to dig a big enough hole. Dib dropped the body in the hole. It landed with a thump on the bottom.
"Good bye, Zim." Dib whispered then shoveled dirt down the hole.
As he shoveled, Dib thought of the first time he saw Zim. He knew they were to be enemies from that very moment. It surprised him how many times they actually had a little bit of fun together.
The hole was finished. Dib threw the shovel to the side and turned around. He needed to use the bathroom.
Dib climbed the stairs and turned to the left. The bathroom hadn't changed a bit since they first moved in. Same dull gray color. But it suited him. He sat on the pot when he heard something behind him...
"Hello DIB. Think you got rid of me, eh? Well think again STUPID HUMAN! Know this: you cannot be rid of me! BWAHAHAHAHA!"
Dib yelped and turned around. There was Zim...but he was transparent.
Gir appeared out of the ceiling. Dib gasped. "When did I kill you?"
Gir sat in the air, thinking a moment. "I dunno."
Dib wasn't rid of Zim yet.
