Akihito tossed and turned in his sleep, frowning. He was having that strange dream again.
He stumbled out through the door, dropping onto his hands and knees. The smoke coming out through the doors was making him choke, his two hearts beating like they were trying to break out through the ribcage.
"This is it then?" He looked down at his hands, the fingertips beginning to glow faintly, just as a wheezing sound behind him indicated that the ship was gone again. She was too damaged. They were both too damaged. "Time...I need more time" He choked out before the light engulfed him, leaving behind a bundle of clothes and a toddler.
Akihito sat up in the bed, feeling cold sweat run down his temples. He glanced at Asami and, seeing that the other was still sleeping like a log, quietly snuck out of the bedroom. This wasn't the first time he had this dream and it wasn't the only one. He had dreams of space battles and aliens ever since he was a kid, but figured they were just imagination and would stop when he got older.
The dreams didn't stop. In fact, they occurred more frequently these days.
Akihito sighed, thinking of returning to bed, but then he heard something. A sound he has only heard in his dreams, but that filled his heart with a sense of joy.
Asami heard it too - a wheezing sound that was coming from the living room. He sprung up from the bed, gun in hand, realizing Akihito wasn't next to him.
Walking out to the living room he cursed, almost dropping the gun on the floor: in the middle of the room there was a large blue box with the words POLICE BOX written in English over the door. He was just in time to see Akihito enter the box, before the door slammed shut behind him and with the same wheezing sound, the box vanished from view.
