She swirled in her dress smiling to herself as her mother packed her bag. It was cool outside, the sun was drying the mud into dirt to be picked up in the winds. She stopped twirling and looked off the hill down in the valley. A view of Trunt lake caught her eye everytime she looked out. The sun reflected off the water into her eyes enabling her from seeing much.
Behind her her mother came up and draped a small necklace around her neck, a white tooth hung down between her breast underneath the dress, she could feel the magic in the bone and smiled up at mom and said "thanks mom. Don't worry. Ill be fine." Her mom hugged her and turned going back into the house silently. The clouds floated around the lake moving fast along The Ven towards the town.
She loved being able to see others and not be seen at the same time. It allowed her to learn more that way. That way she didn't have to make a fool out of herself to learn. Plus her mother had forbid her from going anywhere near any outsiders. Nobody knew they lived up there and her mother didn't want them too. She had always said there would be too many problems. And that it was easier to survive on your own then through any others. So she just left it as their secret.
Her mother came out with a soft smile and held a bulging backpack out to her her sentence was almost a whisper but it was heard "be safe, be carefull, be wise."
She nodded at her mother and slipped the pack onto her back. After a quick hug she turned and stepped onto the cold wet path.
Teilini's steps took her as far as she could go as fast as she could go. To say she was impatient was to put it at a minimum, she practicly ran as she started out onto the path, her eyes slid shut and the scenery around her disapeered and she ran along the path by memory. Something hard caught her arm stopping her in her tracks, panic set in and calmness flooded through her and she clenched the power as she opened her eyes, A burly man with short curly brown hair stared at her straight faced before saying quietly "where did you come from?"
Teilini looked around calmly searching for an exit before meeting his eyes again.
Her mind raced franticly thinking of a way to get out of it before saying "I was just on my way into town" the guy gripped her arm harder and she knew he didn't believe her his voice was short and clipped when he said "town is the other way"
