I just got a spark of inspiration last night while reading a Ranma ½ manga and just couldn't stop writing. The next chapter I have to type up, but it over 12 pages long.

Disclaimer: I don't own Ranma ½ or Mai Otome. If I did, Ranma would accept his girl half, get on with his life, not have a fear of cats (am a cat lover, their so cute), and my room wouldn't be freezing cold. Brrrrrr.

Otome ½

Disaster. Thats all that could describe it.

"The Rebels, they've broken in!"

"Over there, their entering from this side!"

Parts of the castle were on ruins or on fire. There were bodies of dead defenders scattered about. Panic was about the castle grounds.

"They've reached the king's room!"

"Somebody, Anybody!"

Rebels had attacked the castle and killed the king and queen. The city's defense force was launching barrage after barrage of artillery shells at the slave attack force.

"The princess isn't here, find her, find her!"

The princess was missing along with the former otome and her two new born twins. Lena, the former otome, was on the run. She had found the queens mid wife and hid her with the princess and told her not to come out till the attack was routed. So now she on the run with her twins. Slaves were were everywhere. She dodged under an arch bridge over a dried out stream as a slave passed by.

'Damm, there's too many.'

She put her children's baskets down and began drawing a complex magic circle. When she finish, she quickly wrote out a letter and tied it to one of the baskets. She placed both her children's baskets in the circle and took one last look at them. Her son and daughter. Around each one's neck was a necklace with two gems encased in the center of them. Her daughter's had two sapphires in hers while her son's had two emeralds in his.

"You two must live. I love you both so much." was Lena final words to them as she activated the circle. In flash of light, the baskets disappeared.

"Be safe you two."

Nerima ward, Tokyo, Japan

Nodoka Saotome was sitting on her deck porch relaxing. 'Baka Genma. Going out drinking with that fool Soun and leaving me alone.' Screw relaxing, she was full blown pissed. All of sudden, there was a flash of light blinded her. It took her a few seconds for her vision to return, but she was stun to see a circle of burn grass with two baskets in the center of it. She cautiously approached the baskets and looked in to them and a baby boy and girl with necklaces around their neck and a letter tied to one of the baskets. She quickly untied the letter and read it, she was crying by the end of it. She picked up the baskets and went inside her home. She set them down on the table in the living area and removed the necklaces and hide them in the one place Genma can never find her things.

When she returned to the children, she let her maternal instinct take over. She took each baby into her arms.

'Fourteen years...at least I have something I could never have.'

She looked at each of them.

"Ranma and Arika. I'll treasure you both."

Yes, Ranma will not be trained in the neko-ken. He still goes on the training trip, still gets cursed, and it after he has defeated Saffon. Flame it if you want.
