Disclaimer: Don't own Doctor Who, Rose or Jack Harkness, but the puppy is mine.

AN: First fic, and a short one at that. Don't know if I'll expand on this story, but it is definitely a possibility. The idea just came to me as I was sitting in class thinking about my new puppy.

It was inevitable she supposed, once he found out. There was no way to hide this one from him.

"Rose! Oh Rose!" The Doctor called from somewhere down the hall. "I was curious, well more like had a strong suspicion, well more like an intense desire to know just why there is kibble in my tea?"

She winced. She thought she had cleaned up the kitchen. Of course how kibble had managed to get into the Doctor's tea was beyond her, but then impossible things seemed to follow him. She supposed she shouldn't be that surprised.

The small wriggling bundle in her lap, sensing her agitation, yipped at her.

"Shh…" she tried to hush it before the Doctor heard.

"Rose, what was that?" Too late, he was right outside her door. Sighing, Rose picked up the current source of trouble and went to open the door.

"Doctor, meet Jack."

"You named a dog… Jack?" He was struggling to hide a grin.

"It seemed appropriate. He was being all charming… and just look at his eyes!" Rose retorted, holding up the dog.

The grin was full blown now as he took in the jet-black fur and startling blue eyes. There was a definite resemblance to one Captain Jack Harkness, in so far as an animal can resemble a human. He began to laugh.

Taking the pup from Rose and holding it close, he began tickling its sides. Squirming in his arms, until he could sit up, Jack looked into the Doctor's face. Smiling down at the dog, the Doctor started to speak. Jack promptly licked the Doctor from chin to forehead.

"Oh yea… That's the other reason I named him Jack." Rose said cheekily.
