A/N: This is a pointless drabble I came up with while on my tumblr account. It explains the reason Quatre, the way I play him, has so many coffee/tea cups. It's just silly and fairly pointless.
Disclaimers: I do not own Quatre or Gundam Wing. If I did, well... I'd be happier.
Trusting Cups
Sometimes not even Quatre could talk about what was bothering him. He'd always put the needs of those around him first, which let him too drained to fix his own problems. He buried them inside, deep inside and picked at them when he needed to be attacking them straight on. The more stressed he became, the more tea he made.
Fixing his problems with tea was just something he picked up from his sisters. If one of them was having a bad day, the other sisters would fix her tea and just let her talk if she wanted, or just let her sit there. Almost always, by the end of her second cup, whichever sister was upset, was magically fixed.
As a child, Quatre's mind wandered far into his imagination to figure out why tea seemed to have the magical answer. He figured maybe a witch put a spell on the leaves themselves to help fix problems. But he realized, when he got upset, he got a teacup of hot chocolate as a kid, having not cared for the taste of tea back then, and it clicked in his brain. It wasn't the tea, or the hot chocolate, it was the cups that were magic.
He vented his anger, worry, stress into that cup. Slowly and surly, Quatre's teacup collection grew. He was afraid of pouring too much of his negativity into the beautiful cups. Thinking maybe they would break. It carried over into adulthood.
It seems silly, talking about it, so he just kept that inside as well. The teacups didn't mind though.
