Fairytales
Brock leaned agains the counter of the Pokemon center, mentally practicing his latest pick-up line while waiting for the newest Nurse Joy to emerge from the back.
"Hello beautiful lady, my name is Brock, could I perhaps entertain you with a story?" Brock said, a little too loudly, as soon as she appeared from the back.
"Well, alright. It's a pretty slow day, I have some time," replied Nurse Joy, brushing a stray strand of coral-colored hair from out of her eye.
A little taken aback by her non-dismissiveness, Brock stuttered a little, but began his story. "Once up-upon a time... in a far away kingdom, there was a beautiful princess-nurse. She was kind and hardworking, but was often not given the attention and recognition she deserved. Then, one day, a dashing young prince from the town of Pewter came to sweep her away with appreciation and love, if she'd only allow him."
Nurse Joy grinned. "Well, perhaps if the prince takes her out to get dango after her shift, the princess will accept his appreciation and love."
Completely unused to anything other than rejection, Brock just stared at her, mouth wide open.
"But next time, lose the flowery compliments and pick-up tactics and just ask a girl out, would ya?" Joy said, spinning on her heel and leaving a still shocked Brock all alone, but happier than he had been in ages.
